  • How to make a successful C.V .?

    1. Position title and job description. Provide your title, plus a detailed explanation of your daily activities and measurable results. Since job titles are often misleading or their function may vary from one company to another, your resume should tell the reader exactly what youve done.2. Clarity dates and places. Document your work history accurately. Dont leave the reader guessing where you were employed, or for how long. If youve had overlapping jobs, find a way to pull them apart on paper, or eliminate mentioning one to avoid confusion.3. Details. Specify some of the more technical, or involved aspects of your past work or education. Have you performed tasks of any complexity, or significance? If so, dont be shy, give one or two-sentence description. NEXT

    4. Proportion. Give appropriate attention to jobs or educational credentials according to their length, or importance to the reader. For example, if you wish to be considered for a position at a bank, dont write one paragraph describing your current job as a loan officer, followed by three paragraphs about your high school summer job as a lifeguard!

    5. Relevancy. Confine your resume to that which is job-related or clearly demonstrates a pattern of success. For example, nobody really cares that your hobby is spear fishing, or that you weigh 98 kilograms, or that you belong to an activist youth group. Concentrate on the subject matter that addresses the needs of the employer. NEXT

    6. Explicitness. Leave nothing to imagination. Dont assume the resume reader knows, for example, that Helwan University is in Zamalek, or that "C.S." stands for computer science, etc. 7. Length. You should only fill up a page or two. If you write more than two pages, it becomes evident to the reader that you are unable to organize your thoughts, and that you are trying too hard to make a good impression. If the content of your resume is strong then there is no need for more than two pages.

    8. Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation. Create an error free document that represents the educated person you are (or are striving to be). Always use a spell check program or better yet, consult a professional writer. NEXT

    9. Readability. Organize your thoughts in a clear, concise manner. Avoid writing in a style that is fragmented or long winded.

    10. Appearance and Presentation. Dont deviate too much from the standard resume format in order to avoid being trashed due to difficulty in reading.

    11. Portray yourself as someone who is active and gets things done. Do this by beginning sentences with action verbs.

    12. Use headlines. They really work. Headlines permit the reader to skim through your resume and reach the areas that they are interested in quickly.

  • Dont do in your C.V ..!Here are some things you should definitely avoid when preparing your resume:Do not write resume or CV at the top - the first thing should be your identification data.Do not use colored paper to make your resume more attractive! The attractiveness of a resume comes from its content and organization. Print it on white or off white, good quality paper. Do not submit a resume full of spelling mistakes. Use your computer spell check and have a friend read it over. A resume full of mistakes is a sign of a careless individual.Do not include your gender and religion on a resume - your gender is apparent from your name, and no employer will take religion into account when hiring, nor will it matter whether you are veiled or not.

  • Dont do in your C.V ..!Do not give too many details of your marital status - married will do; the employer doesnt need to know how many kids you have at this stage.Do not put a picture of yourself unless it is specifically requested from an employer; again, it will never be a basis for judgment.Do not use abbreviations. Spell the word out the first time you use it, and then you can use the abbreviation throughout the remainder of the resume. This goes for even the most commonly known abbreviations.Do not list your references on the resume. End your resume with References Furnished Upon Request and if the interviewer wants further details, hell let you know. Appearances count, so do not try to save money by printing your resume on cheap paper instead of good quality stock. Avoid coffee stains, etc...

  • Dont do in your C.V ..!Do not reduce the size of your resume so that it becomes difficult to read. If your experience requires you to have a lengthy resume, then by all means have it. Do not try to play around with the dates in order to hide the fact that you have been unemployed, that you change jobs too frequently, or that you held low-level positions. Do not simply copy the job description jargon from the company's HR manual as your career objective. Avoid repetitive words; they make your resume extremely boring. Do not include the reason behind why you are not currently employed by each job listed on your resume.

  • Dont do in your C.V ..!And remember:Focus on your most recent experiences, rather than on everything youve done in your life.Do not apply to positions that you are not qualified for, concentrate rather on the fields of interest where you qualify. When you send out your resume, do not attach extra documents, transcripts, and so forth, unless you are specifically asked to do so.

Questions you are allowed to ask in the interview

  • - Avoid questions about benefits, salary, and financial issues. Although these are important, they should be handled later, after the company has seen what you have to offer. -It is O.K. to ask for a benefits package to review at your leisure. Questions Should Not Ask You

  • -List Your TasksAt the beginning of each week, right down all the tasks you need to get done. Take 10 minutes every morning to do the same for that day. Have a Perfect usage of Time

  • -Consider Your Tasks CarefullyAfter creating your task list, think about them for a few minutes. Make sure that the tasks you included are things that you really need to do. Extra, or optional, tasks should be listed as such and should only be considered IF and WHEN you finish important tasks. If there are tasks you can delegate or divide with others, this can be a timesaving option. Can you divide any of your tasks into smaller parts? Doing this makes bigger projects seem more attainable and make them easier to tackle. Also consider combining tasks when possible. For example, if you have a meeting with a client about Project A and you also need to discuss Project B, do this in one meeting Have a Perfect usage of Time

  • -Include DetailsBe sure to include smaller tasks, that may be overlooked, that are important. This includes meetings, reports, and even important phone calls and emails Have a Perfect usage of Time

  • -PrioritizeNow prioritize your tasks. Try setting up a rating system from 1 to 3, for example, with 1 being very important, 2-important and 3-less important. Rate the tasks on your list accordingly, while grouping tasks with the same rating together. Remember that the priority of the task could be based on the actual importance of the task or deadlines. Once you have a list of prioritized tasks, assign time frames for each item. For example, Task 1 will need 1 hour, Task 2 will require 30 minutes, etc. Have a Perfect usage of Time

  • -Mark Them..!Work the tasks into your calendar. There are many programs and applications that can help you do this. If you do not have one, a desk calendar or any other calendar will be fine.Try to schedule tasks with a rating of 1 first. One time too often people start with the smaller, less important tasks and end up not getting around to the more important ones. Your preferences should also play a part in getting organized. If you are a morning person, organize your more important tasks or those requiring more concentration in the morning Have a Perfect usage of Time

  • -Recurrent ActivitiesTry to schedule set times for repeated activities as reading email or making sales calls. You can plan to check email for 10 minutes every. For example, if you receive a lot of email or make frequent sales calls, it would be a good idea to include set times for such activities.

-Make Room For SurprisesRemember to always set some time aside for anything unexpected and interruptions that are bound to happen. Allocating such time will help you to stick to your schedule instead of having to push things back because of surprises.

Have a Perfect usage of Time

  • -Stick To ItTo make planning worthwhile you need to FOLLOW your plan. There is no point in creating a task list and creating a detailed schedule if you dont stick to it. That would be a waste of time!

-Revise and Update Your PlanSee what works best for you. Does planning tasks a day before work better for you than planning for the day in the morning? There is no right or wrong way to do this. What works for you is right for you.

Have a Perfect usage of Time
