    NamesakeasatitleweavesitswayintotheplotofGogolslifethroughhisBengaliculture,the

    endofthenovel,andtheprogressionofhislife.

    Firstofall,Gogolscultureisintegratedintothetitle.Whileprogressingthroughthe

    book,readersbegintothinkofanameasapersonalterm,insteadofaliteralterm.Duringhis

    life,Gogolistriestofigureoutwhohereallyisintermsofhiscultureandhisname.Atthe

    beginningofthebook,GogolisashyandverytraditionalBengaliboy.Goingthroughhigh
