Phool Chatti Ashram

Phool Chatti Ashram is situated in the north of India along the banks of the Ganges River in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains. Set in stunning gardens and surrounded by mountains, the name “Phool Chatti” means “Land of Flowers”.

Phool Chatti Ashram has been welcoming spiritual seekers for meditation, renewal, and spiritual growth for over 120 years.

Sivananda Ashram The Sivananda Ashram is the spiritual expression of

the divine mission of its founder, Swami Sivananda.

This place of selfless service, contemplation and ego-annihilation, is a perfect atmosphere that can carry aspirants to their goal of God-realisation.Swami Chidanandaji once said in response to a request of an Ashram resident to go elsewhere to do sadhana, "Yes, there may be many other places more suited for good spiritual practice. But if it is God-realisation you want, there is no better place than here."

Uttarakhand Pilgrimage The state of Uttarakhand is also known as 'Dev

Bhoomi' which means Land of Gods. It is one of the most beautiful states of the country today and is a perfect place to rejuvenate and relax your mind. It is also one of the most preferred destinations for a Hindu devotee. At every corner, one can find a temple or a place to worship, here. Not only temples or places of worship, Uttarakhand is dotted with picturesque landscapes, beautiful meadows, lakes, springs, waterfalls, etc.

CHAR DHAM OF UTTRAKHAND

Chardham is regarded as the most sacred pilgrimage of the Hindus. The Char Dham comprises of four holy destinations located in the Garhwal Himalayas, Uttaranchal. The four main pilgrimage centers are Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. The most favorable time to visit the Char Dham is between May and October. It is a frequent destination for the religious minded and one who believes in the existence of God. Ganges, the holy river and her tributaries pass through all the four Dhams. For those who visit the Chardham it is a rejuvenating spiritual experience for the religious. For centuries it has been the meeting ground of the saints and pilgrims. According to Hindu religion it is a path to their salvation or moksh. The four sacred spots is collectively called the Chardham. It is said that Chardham must be visited from left to right starting from Yamunotri, going on to Gangotri, then to Kedarnath and lastly completing the journey at Badrinath. This is called the parikrama according to Hindu tradition.

BADRINATH DHAM

Badrinath is a holy town of the Hindus and is located in the Chamoli district in the state of Uttarakhand. It is the most important of the four sites in the Char-Dham pilgrimage. It is located in the Garhwal hills, on the banks of the Alaknanda River, at a height of 3133m above the sea level.

Kedarnath Dham

Kedarnath is a holy town of the Hindus and is located in Uttarakhand. It is a nagar panchayat located in the Rudraprayag district. It is also the remotest of all the char dham sites, located at 3,584 metres above sea level. The Kedarnath temple was built back in the 8th century AD by Adi Shankaracharya and it stands side by side to the temple that was built by the Pandavas.

Gangotri Dham

Gangotri town is situated in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. It is a pilgrim town which is located on the banks of river Bhagirathi. It is located on the Greater Himalayan Range, and is at a height of 3,042 metres. Gangotri, which is the origin of the sacred river Ganga, attracts tourists from all over the country, every year. It is one of the four sites in the Char Dham pilgrimage centres.

Yamunotri Dham

Yamunotri is one of the Char Dhams of Uttarakhand and is among the four pilgrimages which are considered to be very religious. It is the first of the Char Dhams and is situated towards the western most side. It is here that the shrine of Goddess Yamunotri is situated on top of the Banderpoonch peak, at about 6,135 metres above sea level. This peak is covered with snow almost all through the year. The temple is located on the foothills of Kalinda Parvata, close to a thermal spring.
