Yoga for a Strong, Healthy, Back & Core. with Stephen Saunders; Certified Yoga Therapist. LMT. Sat. Feb. 25th. 1:30 – 4:30pm 3315 E. 33 rd St. Tulsa, Ok. 74135 The force of gravity is always present. With correct alignment and a strong core, this force flows through the body without creating strain or compression in the spine. However, if the posture is poor, weakness and points of compression arise in the lower back, which overtime leads to more serious challenges. It is the job or our Transverse Abdominus muscle (the deepest of our core muscles) to support the lumbar curve in its healthiest position, especially when lifting or sitting, so we’ll spend some time getting reacquainted with this muscle. We will guide each student into their optimum alignment and then practice how to maintain it while standing, sitting, reaching or bending. Strengthening with new and creative ways to support the natural curves of the spine will reduce any pain, pressure and strain in the back, improving our posture, mood and energy. This workshop is open to all levels of experience including beginners. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Registration for the “Low Back & Core” workshop on Sat.
