CELL PHONE & INK CARTRIDGE DRIVE CONTINUE THIS MONTH

The Faith Formation Program is having a phone and ink cartridge drive for old cell phones and small empty ink cartridges from your home. Donations will be collected from November - December. Ask family, friends and neighbors to clean out their drawers filled with old phones. Students can bring to their class-room, or drop off at our parish office, please call before coming. Hello from Mrs. Russell’s Second Grade Class, We would like to thank everyone for all of your prayers as we go through this school year. We are having a great time in class. During spelling, we use Spelling City to practice our words. We also play hot potato to review for our spelling tests. The students have competitions when we play math games. The DL students complete against the face to face students. They have a great time. Currently in Math, we are collecting data to use when creating pictographs, tally charts, tables, and bar graphs. In Science, we are learning about animals and their environments and how the animals survive in their habitats. Food chains are part of an animal’s survival. The students are creating food chains so they will develop an understanding of how the animals live off the land and each other. Social Studies is using science as well through the study land-forms and where they are located on the Earth’s surface. We are playing guess the noun or verb in English. The group of students create a riddle describing a noun or verb. For example, I am made with greenery. I have 3 purple candles and 1 pink candle. I am seen during Ad-vent. What am I? The rest of the class try to guess the riddle. This also helps the students because they are using adjectives to de-scribe their word. In Religion we are studying the meaning of the Advent Wreath and why we celebrate Advent. We are also preparing for our First Reconciliation. The DL students are doing a fantastic job of making sure they are tuned into class and completing their work. This has taken some time for all of us to learn. We are becoming experts.
