ZAC POSEN• ZAC POSEN is a designer who creates for

a sense of occasion – his is a woman of

social stature and has events by the armful

to attend, and he in turn makes dresses by

the armful for her in which to attend them.

Last season, he showed a strict Forties

and femme noir influenced silhouette with

a somewhat jarring autumnal colour palette

– today, however, he went much more pretty

in pastel pinks and pistachio, parma

violet and nude.

CALVIN KLEINThe Calvin Klein show for

spring/summer 2014 was held

in the gargantuan Spring

Studio complex downtown

where tonight they’ll be

throwing a party to celebrate

Francisco Costa’s ten years as

creative director of the house

– as well as to fete the launch

of its latest perfume which

boasts Rooney Mara as its

face.

Costa’s minimalist take has

consistently been a defining

aspect of his shows and this

was no exception.The clothes

stood away from the body:

tanks and jackets in floating

organza hung over oversized

painter’s pants with deep deep

cuffs. He is a master of the

fold and, in the crevices of

pleats there was a flash of

coral – but only a flash

because of course this is CK

so off-white and black

dominated.

CAROLINA HERRERAC a r o l i n a H e r r e r a ' s s p r i n g collection was energetically spiked with graphic pops.

• Green striped organza gowns, swirling Op Art printed maxi dresses and other hypnotic d i s p l a y s e n l i v e n e d t h e proceedings. Veiling and layering was also a theme here but these sheer organza overlays were so feather-light, gently wafting, it didn't ever look too tricksy. The designer even extended the idea to the sweetest bandeau bikini we've seen yet. Just don't swim in it. Herrera's collection isn't necessarily one that ticks off the emerging trends - her uptown clientele are more concerned with simply finding a pretty look for the s o c i a l s e a s o n ' s r o u n d o f luncheons and benefit galas, and make no mistake,

• They will find many prize contenders here - but there was plenty that was on message: cotton shirts with o r g a n z a p a n e l s , monochrome and pleats, to n a m e a f e w . As for the gowns that closed the show - one with a veiled feathered crop top, and another like an upscale shirt dress rendered in organza which buttoned all the way up and ballooned out – they were the clear winners.

CHANELKARL LAGERFELD invited us to a Chanel art exhibition this morning in the Grand Palais and he meant it. From the exhibits displayed as we walked in - Chanel Robot No.5 to the multi-coloured eyes daubed by Peter Philips on everybody from Cara Delevingne to Sam Rollinson and Miranda Kerr, to Jay-Z, it was a powerfu l , colourfu l f iesta of creativity infused with Lagerfeld humour.

Endless ideas for his Chanel following they came hanging off one shoulder, with feathery frayed hems, in a spectrum of pink woven knits , or grey had cashmere knits tied around the waist, while a denim story , added a tougher element before s i lk dresses smothered in mul t i -co loured swatches were taken over by bow-festooned black and white full-skirted dresses.

The accessories, too, carried the artistic theme and huge pearl baubles at the neck or wrist were hopelessly desirable, while patent court shoes were attached to sparkling woolly socks. It had all the signatures but mixed them up again to look modern, new and intoxicating.

TYRA BANKS TRANSFORMS INTO HER MODEL

FRIENDS...

AMAZING IMPRESSIONS Model and photographer

It’s not easy being a super model in today’s society as yourself, so of course it would be near impossible to look like a model that’s already in the industry. Tyra Banks has been in the modelling game for nearly 20 years, and not only has she mastered her own game, but it looks like she knows how to master the look of her fellow model friends too! In a new photoshoot, the ANTM host channels her model friends such as Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne, and Cindy Crawford to challenge her own modelling techniques.

GUYS AND GIRLS...

It's time to crown the winner of the first "America's Next Top Model" cycle to include male models -- it'll be interesting to see if a guy actually deserves the crown or if it's clear Jourdan was the best model and yet a man still wins because it's the first time with guys. Or maybe Jourdan will win outright -let's find out!
