  • Our H700 Cassette and H794 Cord Drawn Blind Systems include our new Sew-on Safety Toggle (H700ST) designed and developed by Jones Interiors. This exclusive product allows you the freedom to use Brass Rings (H66), Polycarbonate Rings (H362), or Cording Eyelets (H4031) to utilise your preferred method of manufacture. These new Toggles must be sewn to the lowest cord attachment points across the bottom of your blind - we reccommend Güttermann heavy duty core spun thread (A782). We have had all these methods independently tested and verified to BSEN13120:2009+A1:2014

FFor H700 Cassette Systems these Safety Toggles provide compliancy with the regulations relating to internal cords. For H794 Cord Drawn Blind Systems, you will also need to fit our Safety Break Cord Pull (H862CP), and use both the Cleat and our Cord (H862) provided in the system.

Each Toggle has a maximum lift capacity of 1kg so please consider the number of cords you might need for any heavy blinds. We also stress that our compliancy certification is only valid when these toggles are used in conjunction with H862 Blind Cord.

These Toggles are available as contract components as are our alternative design, H700CT Clip-on Safety Toggle for use with tapes. The clip design will engage directly onto the will engage directly onto the woven pockets of our Roman Blind Tapes with no sewing required. In all other respects they will operate exactly as our “Sew-on” version.

Full instructions will be included with all kits and all our Safety Devices are tested to BSEN16433:2014 & BSEN16434:2014.

    1) All Warning Labels are attached.

    2) The Chain is either at least 150cm above the ground and fitted with our Chain Safety Device (H700CSD).

The Chain is fitted with our Chain Breaker (H4048CB) and is at least 60cm above the ground.

    or

    3) The Safety Toggles (H700ST or H700CT) are fitted.

Current child safety legislation now demands that we ask you for the installation heights when making your “made to measure” systems as these have a bearing on the maximum continuous chain drops allowable. These chains must then be attached using using our chain safety device to minimise the risk of strangulation. Full instructions are included with every despatch and we stress these must be followed in order for your system to remain complaint. The chain size is not always convenient for every customer so we nnow offer a chain breaker device H4048CB. This will cause the chain to break within the prescribed maximum load of 6kgs and in turn allows the use of chains down to no less than 60cm from the floor. Please note in these cases you should not install the hold down device supplied with our systems. It does however carry the limitation of not passing through the mechanism so will not operate with our 1:4 geared units. Using our 1:1 or our new 1:2 mechanism will allow the successful operation of the chain breaker providing your chain loop falls to the same drop as your Roman Blind when fully lowered.

FFor those customers preferring the security of using continuous chains only, we now offer a much wider range of shorter drop sizes for your convenience.
