RUSSIAN GIANTThe Yenisey River, in the

language of Evenk’s “Great River”, is the world's fifth-longest river and the largest river system flowing into the Kara Sea of the Arctic Ocean.

GEOGRAPHICAL FACTS

The Yenisei runs along 3487 km from south to north through Siberia and is often considered the boundary between the western and eastern parts of that region.

HOME FOR EVERYONEThe Yenisei River runs through all climatic zones of Siberia. Camels live in its upstream, and polar bears live in its lower reach.

NATIONAL IMPORTANCE

The Yenisei is one of the most important waterways of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Besides, the part near the mouth is a good source of oil and hydroelectric power.
