Various such intriguing elements come together to successfully recreate the aura of a dhaba, with the subtle influences of The Claridges. The ambience effortlessly infuses the excitement and association usually felt when you stop on the highway for a meal; in fact, it takes it up a fair few notches! And of course, nothing ‘desi’ is complete without the latest Bollywood chartbusters. If you stick around long enough, you may also witness the staff breaking into a dance when the song of the month comes on! Sit back and enjoy the vibe of the archetypal rustic highway eatery, minus the Delhi belly of course, courtesy the standards maintained by The Claridges, at surprisingly affordable prices.

If you’re raising a toast to, or are in this energetic and quirky ambience, Dhaba by Claridges ensures that you do so with one of their eclectic, in-house specialty cocktails. Don’t look for the bar; make your way to the ‘Theka!’ The well-stocked theka, apart from IMFL and imported liquor, boasts of tharra {signature cocktails} with a desi twist. Choose from Toofan, Gulabo, Narangi, Santari, and Basanti, and even Dhaba by Claridges’ very own take on the much-loved Bloody Mary – the Laal Pari. What makes these tharras even more authentic is that they come in actual pauva bottles! If you’re in the desi spirit, the Dhaba by Claridges theka has got just the desi spirit to match your mood – gin based, vodka based, bacardi based, spicy, sweet, or fruity - you name it! With a pauva bottle in hand, the sign next to the Theka will certainly echo your sentiments - ‘Ek Ek Aur Ho Jaye?’!

An offshoot of the iconic property at the Claridges, while ‘Dhaba by Claridges’ in itself might be only a few months old, it carries with it a legacy of 29 years of experience and adulation from patrons and gourmands.

The menu has been interestingly separated into three parts; tawa, tandoor and patila, and delivers nothing less than a spectrum of delightful and authentic Indian cuisine. For a leisurely meal, choose from an assortment of scrumptious rustic dishes like the signature Balti Meat, Dhaba Prawns, Veg Galouti, Amritsari Tawa Chaap, Dhaba Daal and Amritsari Chhole. The restaurant also serves authentic desi snacks like Vada Pav, Keema Pav, Pav Bhaji and Bun Omelet between 3pm and 7pm, for those looking for a quick bite between meals. Even teetotallers are spoilt for choice, with an array of popular ‘desi’ beverages like Ruhani Lassi, Aam Panna, Thandai, Aam Sutra and cutting chai, complete in a charming cutting glass.
