The 5th Annual Urban Muslim Woman Show - An Inspiring & Fashionable Event

The famous Urban Muslim Woman Show

now in its fifth year, returns to the glam-

orous London Marriott Hotel once again.

Every year, the annual show, designed

to inspire, connect and empower Mus-

lim women, attracts 500 attendees from

across the UK and Europe. Attendees

include a diverse group, including entre-

preneurs, professionals and homemakers

in a wide variety of fields, as well as media representatives

and influential fashion bloggers. The high-profile, glamor-

ous event includes a panel of inspirational speakers, fashion

shows, entertainment, networking opportunities, a 3-course

dinner, exhibitors and exciting product launches from Mus-

lim female entrepreneurs.

This year we will see international figures such as the fa-

mous designer and entrepreneur Rabia Z from UAE along

with others, inspiring the audience and sharing their jour-

ney. The line-up of our prestigious speakers aim to inspire

and motivate Muslim women to make a difference in their

communities, fulfil their ambitions and challenge the many

misconceptions surrounding Islam and women.

The show also provides opportunities for young and es-

tablished entrepreneurs to showcase their skills, products,

business models and their ideas to a wider professional au-

dience of independent and influential women.

One of the most anticipated aspect of the annual Urban

Muslim Woman Show is its fashion shows, which represent

the creative work of modest designers from UK and across

the globe. Once again as promised the event will be show-

casing a line-up of UK & International designers promoting

the message that fashion can be simultaneously bold, confi-

dent, stylish and modest.

Last year’s chief guest speaker ‘HRH Princess Basmah bint

Saud’ said “The Urban Muslim Woman Show allowed me to

meet so many talented women from different walks of UK

life. These are brave and committed women who are mak-

ing their voices heard in the fields of human rights, women’s

rights and gender equality. Women continually prove them-

selves to be capable of taking on greater responsibility and

achieving success independently in our new and modern

world.”

Saverah Events as the official organisers, remain true to their

mission, and the show as always strives to promote emerg-

ing talent and Muslim female entrepreneurs, encourage

women to become empowered and successful, identify the

critical issues Muslim women feel need to be addressed, and

eliminate the concept of Muslim women being suppressed,

oppressed and deprived of their rights.

A whole community comes together under one roof offer-

ing leadership, support and a chance for women to relax and

meet other like-minded, strong female role models in a se-

cure environment.

Speakers at UMW 15Nurun AhmedNurun Ahmed, a recent candidate on BBC the Apprentice,

is an emerging businesswomen. Her vivacious personality

and entrepreneurial ability was spotted by BBC the Appren-

tice producers for setting up 3 small businesses within 18

months.

Nurun, a marketing professional, an entrepreneur and a

mother of two, has been motivating other Muslim women

as a source of support for women wanting to achieve a work

life, balance and inspiring them to chase their dreams.

Nazia KhatunNazia Khatun an amateur Boxer and fitness coach, illustrates

the fun and joy in getting females back into shape. Her fit-

ness journey has been faced with her own personal battles

with eating disorders and how she overcame them to live in

a healthy and happy body.

Nazia’s workshops on “conditioning the mindset to create

your perfect body” has allowed her to motivate and inspire

females to fall in love with their bodies and start living again

in all areas of their lives.

Pinky Lilani Pinky Lilani CBE DL is a food guru, author, motivational

speaker and internationally acclaimed champion for wom-

en. She is the force behind the annual Women of the Future

Awards, the Asian Women of Achievement Awards, The Am-

and the Global Empowerment Award.

Winner of several awards she is listed as one of the 100 most

powerful women in the UK by BBC Radio 4 Women’s Hour.

Mrs Haifa Fahoum Al KaylaniMrs Haifa Fahoum Al Kaylani, Founder Chairman, Arab In-

ternational Women’s Forum, is a high-impact change agent

focusing on leadership in cultural and gender issues. An

economist and graduate of the American University of Bei-

rut and Oxford University, she encourages greater cultural

understanding between Arab and international communi-

ties, supporting a strong role for women in that process.

Mrs Al Kaylani was the International Alliance for Women

Lifetime Achievement Awardee in 2008, featured in the

leading 20 Muslim women in the UK for 2009-2012 and was

the UK Muslim Woman of the Year in 2013.

Rabia Zargarpur Rabia Zargarpur is the founder of Rabiz Z - a brand that

Sadia Azmat Sadia Azmat is a young comedian from East London. She has
