Task Name: Skill Builder (Boat)

Introduction to hand tools and family groups of tools. Use of basic hand tools

introduction to basic skills sawing hammering measuring.

You are to construct the Boat as per teacher instruction.

UNIT LEARNING CONTEXT: Year 7 Technology

Task Name: Picture Frame

You are to construct the picture frame as per teacher instruction. You will; also, be required to produce a CAD drawing of your frame. You will also be required to draw a suitable shape to be cut from the front panel of the frame; this will be done in Auto CAD. Your shape will be cut on the laser. You will also be required to fit a clear acrylic sheet to your frame to protect the picture.

Time for the task 6 Weeks

What you need to do

• use and follow your plans/drawings effectively • follow your production procedure • adapt and modify your production procedure and/or your design to compensate for

design/production problems as they arise • demonstrate safe basic machining, cutting, joining, shaping and finishing techniques

You are to design a Key Tag of dimensions 100*40. You bare to utilise a DXF file from the internet as part of your design. The DXF must be suitable for a school setting. The Tag will be cut using the Laser.
