Year 3 Home Learning
Week Beginning 22nd June.
Maths and Literacy learning is based on the lessons on BBC Bitesize Daily. BBC Bitesize Daily can be accessed via the internet, or on the Red Button on your TV. It is important
that children watch the teaching explanations in these video lessons BEFORE they tackle the worksheets or exercises. We have recommended this because it follows the methods we
teach at school which the children are used to, therefore, doing the worksheets after should be easier for them. We hope you all enjoy watching them!
Day PE / Active 30 minutes
Reading 30 minutes
Spelling and Grammar 30 minutes
Maths 30 minutes
Literacy 30 minutes
Top Tips Try to do a 30 minute active session each day. You can do the Joe Wicks PE daily or choose another activity from our PE or Active Learning Tab.
Read for 30 minutes every day. Record what you have read in your reading record. Remember to look at Free eBook library & More free E-books!
Children should practice spelling and grammar/comprehension activities.
White Rose Home Learning OR BBC Bitesize Daily Lessons for Maths. Please ensure children watch the teaching videos first, before they tackle the worksheets. This will explain to you all how to do the maths, using the methods taught in school. Also children can watch the video again if they do not quite understand the first time, which will make it much easier for them.
Practise your literacy skills by using the BBC Bitesize lessons for literacy. If you want to challenge yourself, use the skills that you have learnt in your own writing or when you are reading your own book.

Geography Last week you looked at Climate. You are going to create a survival guide for Bear Gryll’s who is going on 2 quick trips one to the Antarctic and the second to the desert. You need to write a list on the things he will need to be able to survive in these conditions. Good luck! Science. The ASE (The Association for Science Education) Download Lesson 3 Reflective Surfaces(Year Three Resources Light)https://www.ase.org.uk/ase-coronavirus-hub-primary-remote-learning-resources#year3
Light Lesson 4 – Opaque, translucent or transparent? Transparent objects, such as glass, allow light to pass through.
Translucent objects, such as a plastic bottle, allow some light to pass through, but not clearly. Opaque objects, such as a metal can, allow no light to pass through. It is impossible to see what is inside without opening it. Task: Find objects around the home and record whether they are opaque, translucent or transparent.
