Aim of Tonight’s Meeting
• Wake up call (77 school days left)
• Information on how to revise – getting organised
• Guidance for Parent’s on how to support child
• Revision in English and Maths
• Careers Information and Guidance
Exams – 10th May – 27th June
130 hours of revision
Split between 9 subjects means 15 hours per subject (and this doesn’t include what you will be doing in school with teacher support)
Revise two subjects per night for 45 minutes each
Revision Timetable
Timetables will need to change as you get into exam season – prioritise!
Plan in the time to revise and stick to it
Give yourself rest breaks during revision
Make sure you plan in free time away from the books

Where to revise?
• Find somewhere quiet
• Preferably at a desk/table and not your bed
• Remove all devices
• Have all equipment/resources organised and ready to start
How To Revise?
• Make sure you understand what you are revising; if not, ASK!!!
• Split your subjects up into topics and RAG (Red, Amber, Green) rate them.

How To Revise?
• Make sure you understand what you are revising; if not, ASK!!!
• Split your subjects up into topics and RAG (Red, Amber, Green) rate them.
• Tackle the difficult subjects/topics first
• Use a range of different revision techniques depending on the requirements of the subject.

Tips for Parents to Support Revision
• Recognising how important these exams are and how much time your son/daughter will need if they are to do as well as they can.
• Not asking them to do too many chores or look after younger brothers and sisters.
• Encouraging the rest of the family to help by not disturbing revision.
• Securing a quiet place for study, where their work can be safely kept.
• Revising with your child when appropriate.
Tips for Parents to Support Revision
• Encouraging relaxation time (too much study is not helpful).
• Praising hard work.
• Emphasising the need for plenty of sleep.
• Emphasising the need for a healthy diet.
• Reminding them that it will soon be over.
Coping with Exam Stress
• Get organised
• Keep talking
• Regular exercise
• Don’t do too much
• Don’t compare yourself to others
