Once you have your flashcards and mind-maps you could:

Meet up with a friend and question each other on the devices

Create acronyms or rhymes to learn devices

Find an interesting image and use your flashcards to write some language devices to describe it or use it as a trigger to write a narrative

Use your AFOREST or FURRYFEETAS flashcards to label a persuasive speech or letter that you have found online

Try to write at speed – time yourself. Maybe write your flash cards out on lined paper under timed conditions

Some final reminders:

There will be a revision session during the holidays on April 9th at 9.15am until 11.30am.

On paper 1 question 3, structure does NOT mean sentence lengths. See the right hand side of the table in your revision pack, instead it is: order of events, focus shifts, zoom in/out, perspective/person, tension/suspense, foreboding, time shifts, flashbacks/forwards, climax etc……Think of it like a film! The key device is ‘FOCUS SHIFT’

On paper 2 question 2 you do not need to analyse devices

On paper 2 question 4 methods means devices and perspectives means their opinions/feelings.
