Principal’s News K.1.2 Excursion Tomorrow K.1.2 will travel to Junee to visit the Junee Liquorice Factory followed by a visit to Noah’s Ark and the Botanical Gardens in Wagga Wagga. Miss Grigg will attend the excursion with Mrs Kroek and Mrs Millthorpe. Students will be required to attend school by 8am to catch the bus and we should return to school by 4pm. PLEASE NOTE THE BUS WILL LEAVE AT 8am and will not be waiting for students who are late to arrive. Facebook Survey A survey has been posted to our Yanco Public School Facebook page that will enable parents, carers and community members to share their thoughts on the programs and activities at the school. The survey is anonymous if you would prefer a paper copy they are available to collect from the office.

Lanterns on the Lake Yanco Public School P & C The upcoming lanterns on the Lake will be held on Friday the 6th of December 2019. The Lanterns on the Lake event we will require YPS students to collect2 litre milk bottles. Could you please save your bottles, wash and remove the label and send into the school over the next couple of weeks. Student Attendance You may have noticed snippets in our recent newsletters regarding student attendance that explain the impact a higher number of absences can have on a child’s learning and skill development. Where possible it is important to plan appointments outside of school hours and ensure your child/ren arrive on time in the morning to commence literacy activities. A day away from school here and there has the potential to equate to a large number of hours of missed learning

Hello everyone, Christmas is nearing. Only 4 more weeks to go until the start of the Christmas holidays! This week, I asked the students about the importance of Christmas. Some students said Christmas is about spending time with family. A couple of students said Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Others said Christmas is about giving and forgiving people in your life, and some students were simply excited about getting a visit from Santa and receiving presents. We also started to make Christmas decorations. At the moment, we are making unique snowflakes. By folding a round piece of paper in half three times, followed by cutting out small shapes from the edges, we can create beautiful one-of-a-kind snowflakes. We then proceed by taping our snowflakes onto a piece of string and our snowflake decoration is ready to be put up and spread the Christmas joy! I wish you all a great and blessed week, Mrs Linda Milthorpe
