Group Administrator Role
Your responsibilities and role as a group administrator are to:
- Manage the settings and members of your group – add, delete, approve or
deny members as well as control group administrators
- Toggle privacy settings to control who can see what content
- Moderate posts within your Yammer group – monitor and delete posts if
necessary
- Post a group announcement to instantly share important information with your
group members
- Respond to queries and provide basic Yammer support, if they are unable to
provide assistance, then escalate to the Community Manager/s, which is

Yammer Groups – creating a group:
1. Ensure your group is Morris related

Creating a new group

Click the ‘+’ symbol next to the group page
A box will show up for you to enter the group details:• ‘Internal Group’ must be selected• An appropriate name for the group• You can add members now or you can add
them after creating the group• Select private or public access – private
means a user will need to be invited or request membership to the group and public means anyone can join and collaborate within the group

You will be taken to your newly created group page to customise. Click the top right settings to get started.
Update your group’s image and header colour
Add and maintain memberships as well as group admin permissions. Here, you can
assign or revoke group administration access
Add or edit your group description
Make sure you click ‘Save Changes’ for the updates to take affect

Here you can view settings and hover over the ‘i ’ for a description and purpose of the group
Add members and manage Group Admin privileges for the group here
Access the group by email
Communicate through an update or announcement.Poll or praise someone in the group
Attach flies and notes that are relevant to the group
Navigating a group
Pin important files, links or attachments for the group here
Update your settings such as image, description, members and access here
Add new members to your group
Firstly click the button under members shown below

Managing members
You will be shown a box where you can start to type an individual’s name or email address then click ‘Add To Group’
They will automatically become a part of the group but can remove themselves at any time
Approve or deny membership request
If the group is private and someone requests to join the group, you will see ‘Pending requests’ above your group members, click on the ‘Review’ button the another box will come up where you can approve or deny the member

Managing members
You will also see a notification on your homepage if someone has requested to join your private group
• Monitor, report and delete posts within your group
• Refer to the Morris Core Values, 3B, Yammer Guidelines and Social Media Policy
for guidance on acceptable posts
• If you see a post that breaches Morris policies and procedures, please take a
screenshot and email to the following addresses then delete from Yammer
– ESB: [email protected]
– WSB: [email protected]
• If it takes longer then 20 minutes per day to moderate your group, please
escalate to your direct leader

What does it mean to ‘moderate a group’
If you need to delete a post, click on the ellipses (shown below) at the bottom of the original post then click the delete button
You will then see a message to confirm you want to delete a post, if you’re deleting a post due to a breach of Morris policies and procedures, ensure you send a screenshot to your relevant HR advisor then delete

Deleting a post
Once a post is deleted it cannot be recovered
• Join the Yammer support/Feedback group
• Click on the in app ‘Get Support’ Feature
• Contact one of the Community Managers
