YOUTH NEWS

One of my favorite passages of scripture is Isaiah 6 and has the most beauti-

ful structure of worship. I want to walk through that over the next few

weeks for us to consider. Let’s just consider the first verse today, “In the

year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and

lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple.”

First, notice it took a tragedy for Isaiah to really focus on the Lord. If we

were honest, we would admit that we often don’t rely on God enough dur-

ing the good times of life. Consider our spiritual walk during the good

times and tough times. Do we pray more during the good times or the

tough times? Spend more time with God in his word? Seek godly counsel

from others?

It was during this tough time when Isaiah really sought out the Lord and

God gave him a special revelation. He saw God as He is! God, full of

majesty and glory, far greater than we often picture him. But what was the

key to seeing the Lord? Lifting his eyes. Same with Peter. Same with

us. We won’t see God if we don’t lift our eyes. Lift them off ourselves,

others and stuff and seek the Lord.

Let’s seek Him this week!

A WORD FROM YOUR PASTOR

Hey church, I just wanted to take a moment to remind everyone to do their part to make everyone feel welcome and safe on our campus. As we are wanting the membership at large to come back to church, we must remember to make it easy for them to do so, and that means that we wear our masks, and that we stay appropriate distances from one another. As you’re in the sanctuary, please keep your mask on until you sit down and prepare for worship. If you go talk to someone, or if someone comes to talk to you, simply put it back on while you visit. And please remember to stay 6 feet from them. Some are taking a big step in coming back, and we need to make it easy and help them feel safe as they do. The sooner we get rid of this thing, the sooner we can get back to worship-ping together as a family, and singing together, and even enjoying a meal together. So let’s each of us do our part, and wear a mask at least until we get settled in the sanctuary. Many times the best way we can show love to the brethren is to inconven-ience ourselves. The best way you can love your fellow church member during this time is to inconvenience yourself and wear a mask, regardless of your personal opinion. 1 John 3:4-10 this week. Tough stuff so read and pray up! Love you all, Bro. Chris
