Xx digipak analysis

Images The very minimal images used in this digipak relate to the band’s image and music. They are an organic group and generally appeal to a more niche market as they create indie music therefore they do not need to create extravagant album art. The colour scheme is black and white and white and black throughout to maintain this minimalist look. There are not many loose leaflets such as tour dates/merchandise advertisements and any lyric sheets etc maintain the same colour scheme. I particularly like the cut out on the left side panel as it adds some dimension to the otherwise flat and “bland” digipak. Text There is little to comment on the text aspect of this particular digipak however I feel that this is a positive aspect. It maintains the sleek feel to the album art and the band’s image. This suggests that they are aware that they have a consistent audience and those that are unaware can find out by picking up a neat, minimal piece of album art. Ideas for own digipak To fit the brief of my digipak I need to ensure that I create a manipulated image therefore this minimalist look is not suited for me. However, my song is electronic pop which is a sub-genre and therefore appeals to a niche market so following this colour scheme would work well. Using dark colours with some white to contrast would also suit the mood of my song and music video performance as it has a melancholy mood. I have used some influence from this band in terms of look/performance so it would be suitable to relate my digipak to theirs in some way.
