FINAL PRESENTATION:
GOALSBy : Matthew J Lear
My: SMART Goal= Build a bobber!•Specific-
•Measurable-
•Attainable-
•Realistic-
•Timely-
Find a Yamaha XS650, project bike, and make a bobber/chopper.
By progress and time put into the build process.
I did find a bike, and I have begun tearing it down to rebuild.
I am very willing and able b/c I want to ride it in the spring.
It is a realistic goal to have it running and riding by early or mid spring depending on finances.
Influences for success
It’s a challenge and motivation find, buy or make parts
That I really enjoy welding When I get finished for the night
working on my bike, I am happier and energetic.
Improved mental health And the use of enabling factors like
my skills of fabricating and painting.
Resources: Friends and Family
Before After
This is the bike completely stock
This is the bike after I stripped it down, cut off the old rear section and welded on a new Hard-tail.
Progress:
Since I didn’t start working on this bike till right before this class started, I have been putting in a few hours 2-3 times a week.
Spending a lot of time researching, locating parts, and coming up with ideas.
As well as budgeting my money to go towards this project bike, I try to buy one thing for it each week, or $50-$100 each week.
1. Had to find a bike2. Get it running3. Take it apart4. Cleaned the frame5. Cut the frame in two6. Bought a new hard-tail7. Welded it back together8. Bought new rear fender and handlebars9. Starting to mock up seat and I am looking for a
gas tank.10.The hardest part is going to be the wiring, which
I have been looking for wiring diagrams online.
