Washington, D.C. and Beverly Hills, Calif. – March 13, 2007 – XM, the nation’s leading satellite radio service with
more than 7.6 million subscribers, and Concord Music Group, one of the world’s largest independent record labels,
today announced the release of “Watercolors: Red." The 12-track compilation disc, the third in a series of jazz CD
collections co-produced by XM and Concord, is available now exclusively at Circuit City stores nationwide.
Created from Concord’s rich catalog (which includes the Concord Picante, Heads Up and Peak Records labels) and
designed to reflect the sounds heard on XM’s contemporary jazz channel Watercolors (XM 71), this latest release
“Watercolors: Red" is pure musical sophistication. The CD features performances from the best artists in
contemporary jazz, including 12 steamy tracks from David Benoit, Lee Ritenour, Sergio Mendes, Poncho Sanchez
and more. Each song paints a spectrum of tropical jazz hues.
“Watercolors: Red" was produced by Nick Phillips, Concord vice president of jazz and catalog A&R, and Shirlitta
“Trinity" Colón, XM’s senior director of Jazz and Blues programming. This new compilation follows two previous
releases from XM and Concord: “Watercolors: Blue," the first jazz collection inspired by XM’s Watercolors channel,
and the critically-acclaimed “Blistering Licks – Red Hot Riffs from the Giants of Jazz."
“Watercolors: Red" tracks include:
