The Xero developer and app partner brand guidelines provide guidance on how to display the Xero logo and badges in different scenarios. The Xero brand is a valuable asset so we’re keen to preserve it through correct and consistent use by all our partners.

Please follow these guidelines when choosing the size, clear space and colour of the logos and badges. And remember that Xero must approve any co-branding or use of the Xero logo or badges.

Xero logo versus Xero badgesWhenever you’re talking about Xero, you’ve got a choice between using the Xero logo on its own, or your Xero badge.

The Xero logoUse the Xero logo when you talk about Xero as a product you integrate with, for example, on your homepage or alongside logos of other products.

The Xero developer badgeUse the Xero partner badge to communicate the level of your partnership with Xero including on your Xero-specific web page.

The Xero app partner badges Use the Xero partner badge to communicate the level of your partnership with Xero including on your Xero-specific web page.

Xero logo placementThe Xero logo is the single most important asset of our brand. It identifies Xero and reflects who we are in a neat little package, so its important it’s used correctly.

Choosing the formatThe Xero logo is available for both print and screen (web, TV, etc) use.

For print work, use the Encapsulated Post Script (.eps) or Portable Document Format (.pdf) files in the first instance, as these files reproduce better in print.

For screen work, the EPS, PNG or PDF file formats are best.

Minimum logo sizesTo ensure legibility, please make certain that the logo does not reduce beyond the following sizes:

Screen40px height (excluding clear space)

Space around logoThe logo should have a minimum clear space around it. This space is equal to the width of the ‘x’ in the Xero logo.

Minimum badge sizesTo ensure legibility, please make certain that the badge does not reduce beyond the following sizes:



Space around badgeThe badge should have a minimum clear space around it. This space is equal to the width of the ‘x’ in the Xero logo. Please don’t change the relationship in space or position between the Xero logo and Developer badge.

Preferred versionPlease endeavour to use the coloured version of the partner badge if you can. It must be placed on a white or light background.

Black and whiteThe black and white version is primarily for use in newspapers or similar, where black and white is the only option.

Grey and white Similar to ‘black and white’, this treatment should only be used when full black is too strong.

WhiteIf you’re using a dark or coloured background, use the white version. If laid over photography, place it over a portion of the photo with minimal detail (out of focus areas work well). The word Xero should be clearly legible with a consistent colour behind the punched-out type.

Xero app partner badgesYour Xero app partner badge is the primary way to communicate the level of your partnership with Xero. It’s important that it’s used and written about correctly.

App partner badges

App partner badge language Here are some examples of how to write about your Xero app partner status. Note that we don’t use capitals other than for proper nouns.

• AppName is a Xero connected+ app.

• AppName is a Xero recommended app partner.

• AppName has been a Xero connected app since 2017.

• We’re proud to be a Xero app partner.

• We’ve reached Xero preferred app partner status.

Timeline July 2016: Connected app badge launched (replacing the Xero add-on badge).

November 2017: App partner program and preferred app partner badge launched.

Late 2018: Connected+ app badge and recommended app badges to be launched.

Xero co-branding guidelines


Co-branding guidelinesXero is happy to support co-branding by partners. In any co-branding initiative, it’s important to strike the right balance between the use of your brand and the Xero brand. Please remember that co-branding must always be approved by Xero.

Fundamental rules• Use of the name Xero in your company name, domain

name, product name, or service offering is not permitted.

• Use of the Xero logo, tagline and web address must conform to the brand guidelines.

• Don’t modify, obscure or cover elements of the Xero logo or Xero app partner badges in any way.

• To achieve complete brand consistency, Xero logo artwork should never be re-created.

• Apart from the use of the Xero logo, use of the Xero brand blue is not permitted.

• Copying or obvious adaptation of the Xero design interface from either the marketing site www.xero.com or the Xero application is not permitted.

• Use of copy, images, screenshots, photos and any other content produced by Xero is permitted only with approval.

• When promoting or offering your products or services, your brand must be the dominant brand.

• Any implied endorsement by Xero or implied affiliation with Xero must be approved.

• Xero is a fast moving company that is dependent on close partnerships – we will ensure you get a speedy and flexible response to all co-branding requests. You can email us at [email protected].

• When promoting or offering Xero products or services you must use materials provided by Xero. You can only alter the materials and apply your own brand and content in ways pre-approved by Xero.


Print advertisingWhen using the Xero developer or app partner badges please observe these guidelines.

Your logoPosition your logo clearly in a prominent position. When promoting or offering your products or services, your brand must be the dominant one.

Your Xero badgeIt can be useful to promote your Xero partnership in your adverts. Ensure the app partner badge is equal in size or noticeably smaller than your logo to maintain the correct hierarchy.

Any supporting copy you have can help add more information or value to your advert.

Xero partner badge When using your developer or app partner badge in your social media posts, consider the limited size you have to work with – make it big enough to be clearly seen, but not so big that it gets in the way of your imagery or message. Ensure that it is smaller than your logo.
