Parental

Front Page

We are currently redesigning the

front page to meet our head

teacher’s requirements

Page 23: xav vle

http://open.easicop.org/index.php

This is currently the VLE website address which you can access,

but once this is approved we will change this to be the current website address for the school.

Page 24: xav vle

Single Sign on

Single Sign On is currently being discussed and the best methods of implementation researched.

This will give users one login for the VLE that would also then allow them to link to other sites that would normally require another login without signing in again.

Page 25: xav vle

Importance of these new services

• Offering such education resources via the web based VLE helps to improve their learning skills and communication as youngsters prefer to use the Internet than working from books.

• Young people around the world use online services to increase their social lives.

Page 26: xav vle

Importance of these new services

• If other online services are used by everyone then teachers and students will have the opportunity to use the VLE on a daily basis as part of their school work.

• Students and staff can enhance their teaching and learning.

Page 27: xav vle

SOA and Web services

requirements

• Students and Teachers do not have to worry about carrying their homework, books or other paper based work with them to school as all of this can be done on the VLE.

• So therefore the use of SOA and web services meets their requirements and minimises the lack of work they carry around with them.

Page 28: xav vle

Global Opportunity

• The advantage of increasing this tremendous global opportunity is to share experiences between teachers and students from around the world, the integration between different communities via video conferencing and messaging.

Page 29: xav vle

Global Opportunity

• Teachers can share their resources with one another to increase their effectiveness and of their teaching material.

• The VLE offers more features so therefore it can result in more interactive and innovative teaching.

Brownhills and Local Community VLE

Another project that we are involved in is the development of the Community VLE .

The current response to this development has been fantastic!
