Explanation of Parallax

Parallaxdescribesasituationwherethefocalplaneoftheobjectinthescopeisoffsetfromthereticle.Ifyouhaveparallax,youhaveanopticalillusionthatmustbecorrected.Parallaxshouldnotbeconfusedwithfocus.Parallaxcompensationchangesneitherthefocusofthereticlenorthefocusoftheimage;itsimplymovestheplanesatwhichthesetwoobjectsareinfocussothattheysharethesameplane.

TO ADJUST THE PARALLAX:

1. Setyourfastfocuseyepieceforyoureye.Lookatablankbackdropandturnyoureyepieceinandoutuntilyouhaveacrispsharpreticle.

2. Lookthroughscopeandplacecross-hairontarget.Moveyourheadaroundwithoutleavingexitpupil.Doesthecrosshairmoveorbecomeblurry?

3. Ifthecross-hairmovesorisblurry,setthesideparallaxtoestimatedrange,usethisasstartingpointandfinetuneasneeded.

Mechanical Zero

YourRitonriflescopeispre-setfromthefactorywiththereticleinthecenteroftheadjustmentranges.

TO FIND FACTORY ZERO:

1. Dialturretonedirectionuntilitwillnolongerrotate. NOTE-Donotforcetheturretpastit’sstoppingpoint.

2. DialturretoppositedirectioncountinghowmanyMOAitturns.

3. DividethattotalnumberofMOAinhalfanddialtothatnumberforyourfactoryzero.

4. Completethisprocedureforbothwindageandelevationdialstoapproximatelycenterthereticle.

Illumination System

Thevariableintensityreticleilluminationsystemaidsinlowlightsituations.

TO ACTIVATE THE ILLUMINATION:

1. Rotatetheadjustmentknobineitherdirection.

Note - The illumination knob allows for 6 levels of brightness intensity.

TO CHANGE BATTERY:

1. Unscrewtheoutercap.

2. Removethebattery.

3. ReplacewithanewCR2032batterywithpositivesideout.

4. Re-installthebatterycapandbesuretotightenfully.

Mounting Your Riton Red Dot

TO MOUNT YOUR RITON RED DOT:

1. YourRitonX3TactixARDcomewith2mounts.High(lower1/3cowitness)andLow(flushmount)

2. Mountsmaybechangedbyusingtheprovidedallenwrenchtoloossenthe4screwsthatholdthemounttotheRedDot.Chooseyourpreferredmount,placeitinthegrovesonRedDotandtightenthe4scewssnugly.R

3. Usingtheprovidedallenwrenchloosenthebasebolt.Thenattachthelowerbaseandmakesurethisissolidlyseatedinthebasegroove.Topreventrecoilinjury,positiontheRedDotsothatyouhaveatleastfourinchesofeyerelief.

4. Besurethebaseclampishookedaroundtheoutsideoftherail/base.Pressdownwardandforwardtowardthemuzzle.Then,firmlytightenthebaseclamphexnut.

5. Note.theRitonX1TactixARDhasanunlimitedeyerelife.

6. IfyouplantomountamaginfierbehindyourRedDotbesuretoleavesufficantspaceforthisasyoumountyourARD.

Bore Sighting

BoresightingisapreliminaryproceduretoachieveproperalignmentoftheARDwiththerifle’sbore.Initialboresightingoftheriflescopewilldecreasetheamountoftimeandammunitionyouneedtouseattherange.

Thiscanbedonebyusingamechanicalorlaserboresighteraccordingtothemanufacturer’sinstructionsorbyremovingtheboltandsightingthroughthebarrelonsomerifles.

TO BORE SIGHT YOUR RIFLESCOPE:

1. Placetheriflesolidlyonarestandremovethebolt/boltcarriergroup.

2. Sightthroughtheboreatatargetapproximately25yardsaway.

3. Movetherifleandtherestuntilthetargetisvisuallycenteredinsidethebarrel.

4. Withthetargetcenteredinthebore,makewindageandelevationadjustmentsuntilthereddotisalsocenteredoverthetarget.

Note - If a laser bore sighting or any other similar device inside the bore

was used, it must be removed before firing. An obstructed bore can cause

Zeroing the Scope

IMPORTANT SAFETY CHECKS:

• Alwayscheckyourweaponandsurroundingsforsafety.

• Followallweaponmanufacturersafetyguidelines.

• Alwaysshootfromasolidrestusingconsistentandproperform.

• Besurethatyourtargetisleveltoaidinaccuratesight-inprocess.

TO ZERO THE SCOPE:

1. Startsight-inprocessfrom25yards,fromsolidrestfire3-shotgroup,ensuringthatyoufireatsamespoteachtime.Usegridlinesontargettocenterandlevelyourcrosshairs.

2. Afterthefirst3-shotgroup,makeadjustmentstobringbulletimpacttocenteroftargetyou’reshootingat.Repeatthisprocessatwhateverrangeyouchooseandyouwillhaveaccuratezero.

Note - Scope graduations are 1 MOA. Scope turrets are marked with direction of bullet impact change.

At 100 yards a 1 MOA scope adjustment will move bullet impact 1 inch in direction adjusted. At 25

yards that same 1 MOA adjustment will be 4 times smaller, so 1 MOA adjustment at 25 yards will move

bullet impact 1/4 of an inch.

OUR WARRANTY IS SIMPLE:

• NoproofofpurchaseorregistrationrequiredforyourRitonproducts.

• Lifetimewarrantyregardlessoforiginalpurchaser.

• Allwarrantyreplacementswillreceiveabrand-newproductofftheshelf.Wewillnoteverreplacetheproductwitharepairedorrefurbishedproduct.

• Replacementproductwillbeshippedwithin48hoursofreceivingandapprovingyourreturn.

• Loss,theftand/ordeliberatelywornanddamagedproductsarenotcovered.WarrantyisVOIDifdamageresultsfromunauthorizedrepairoralteration.

Troubleshooting

Problemsthoughttobeassociatedwiththescopeareoftenactuallymountproblems.TaketimetoensurethemountsaretighttotheARDandthatARDissecuredanddoesn’ttwistormoveintherings.Confirmthatcorrectbaseandringsarebeingusedandintheproperorientation.Besuretotorqueringspermanufacturer’sspecs.

Keepinmindtherearemanyissuesthatcancausepoorbulletgrouping.Alwaysutilizeasolidrestandmaintaingoodshootingtechnique.Haveaqualifiedgunsmithlookoveryourrifletobesureallthingsareinworkingorder.Seethattheactionandbarrelareproperlycleaned.Someriflesandammunitiondon’tworkwelltogether,trydifferentammunitionandseeifaccuracyimproves.
