CONTENTS

GFTN  is  WWF’s  initiative  to  eliminate  illegal  logging  and  transform  the  global  marketplace  into  a  force  for  saving  the  world’s  valuable  and  threatened  forests.  By  facilitating  trade  links  between  companies  committed  to  achieving  and  supporting  responsible  forestry,  GFTN  creates  market  conditions

practices  throughout  the  supply  chain.

GFTN NOTES FROM THE FIELD

India  holds  a  pivotal  position  in  the  global  forest  products

management  globally.  The  demand  for  wood  and  wooden

products  has  increased  substantially  in  both  the  domestic

and  the  international  markets.  In  addition  to  the  wood

sourced  from  within  the  country,  the  nation  is  importing

       from  around  the  world.
