Reshaping the Future OF OUR CITY
It's such an important time for our city - and especially the downtown area - to get involved in the shaping of what the future Winston-Salem will look like. Over the next 10 years, we'll be spending over $2 billion on roadway and infrastructure projects - now is the time to get involved in the planning and design of those new roadways!
The Creative Corridors Coalition (CCC) is a nonprofit organization created to provide a voice and a process for residents of Winston Salem and Forsyth County to influence the design and implementation of roadway infrastructure projects in and around the downtown area.
On Sunday, October 21st, CCC is hosting a walking
event where you can enjoy a downtown tour of the bridges and corridors that are being re-imagined and contribute your own thoughts and ideas. There will be a post walk party with food, music, games and more. (Walk & Party ~ $15/adult | 12&under Free)
The walking route begins and ends at Corpening Plaza and traverses the downtown area. Along the route, walkers will encounter Winston-Salem sites and businesses offering opportunities for photos of many of our local icons. Participants will walk 3.1 miles and over or under 10 of the bridges that are being re-imagined by the Creative Corridors Coalition.
To register, please visit www.CreativeCorridors.org/walk. For more information, please contact Creative Corridors by phone or email (336-793-0477 or [email protected]).

Meet Katy Davis. She’s a NCPK teacher at Smart Start Forsyth County who lives on Washington Avenue. And she wants to share her potato salad recipe for your fall cookout fun!
Amazing Potato Salad This potato salad is delicious and always a huge hit. Since fall is just around the corner, enjoy one last cookout and share this fantastic side dish. It will surely become a family favorite. This recipe comes from my wonderful mother, Jane, in Cary, NC.

Instructions 1. Peel and cube potatoes. Boil until tender about 10 minutes. 2. Add salt and pepper, relish, and celery seed, onion, and 3 diced hard boiled eggs to potatoes. 3. Cool in fridge 4. In a separate mixing bowl combine mayo, mustard, relish juice, and sugar. Stir until creamy. 5. Pour mixture over cooled potatoes. 6. Garnish with sliced eggs and paprika.
