Obtaining a LicenceLicencing

The Jamboree badge/logo and the related Jamboreedesign element will symbolise the 21st World ScoutJamboree to millions of people both inside and outsideScouting, and it is essential that they are usedconsistently and correctly.

In addition, the Jamboree badge/logo and designelement are trademarks and have a “brand value”which can be used to generate funds for Scoutingaround the world through commercial activity.

All usage of the Jamboree badge/logo or designelement must therefore be licenced.

Licences to use the Jamboree badge/logo and designelement are available to recognised National ScoutOrganizations and can be obtained from Scouting 2007.

World Scout Jamboree badge/logo and design element

The Jamboree badge is intended only for use by anation’s contingent attending the Jamboree, and will beproduced and distributed by Scouting 2007.

The Jamboree logo is the same as the Jamboree badge, and is used in printed or electronic form. The Jamboreelogo is always to be used exactly as described in thisdesign guide, and no variations are permitted.

The Jamboree design element can be used in any of itsexisting forms (as described in this design guide), orcan be incorporated as part of a derivative Jamboreedesign produced by a National Scout Organization.

Protection

The 21st World Scout Jamboree badge/logo has beenregistered as a trademark with the World IntellectualProperty Organization (WIPO). This protection allowsboth the World Scout Bureau and Scouting 2007 to takelegal action against any individual or entity for theunauthorised reproduction of the badge/logo.

National Scout Organizations are encouraged to registerand protect the Jamboree badge/logo and Jamboreedesign element, and any derivative Jamboree design intheir own country.

Types of Licences

There are three types of licences:

Commercial licences, for the use of the Jamboreebadge/logo or design element on products whichare sold to raise money on behalf of Scouting

Non-commercial use, for the use of the Jamboreebadge/logo or design element on items which areused to promote and communicate the World ScoutJamboree without major financial gain

Derivative licences, which are only available for theJamboree design element, enabling National ScoutOrganizations to create their own Jamboree designand use it commercially or non-commercially.
