Connecting smart minds: Mobile Content with knowledge impact Mobile content developers and producers create exciting content and innovative

applications that do more than just meet basic needs of communication. They

impact the daily lives of millions with mobile content and apps that connect minds.

Smart applications track earthquakes, facilitate banking everywhere for everyone,

make governments more transparent and accountable, and save lives.

Mobile content and innovative applications empower people to read or visualise

colours when they are blind, find each other where there are no street numbers,

overcome motoric and cognitive limitations.

They change the entire experience of tourists be, it in Italy, Saudi Arabia, Mexico

or Denmark. They alter the radio experience in Latvia, local news availability in

India, citizen reporting in the Russian Federation.

Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC) is proud to host the WSA

-mobile Global Congress for the third consecutive time and to welcome all

those who actively contribute to the UN WSIS Agenda.

As the main strategic partner for WSA-mobile, ADSIC is ready to provide all

the support needed to develop and increase global participation to achieve

the UN MDGS.

Locally, ADSIC is responsible for the Abu Dhabi IT agenda and plays a very

important role in supervising the e-Government program implementation,

sponsoring initiatives and competencies that are of critical importance to the

project and to the overall Abu Dhabi e-Government strategy, which, in

accordance with the Abu Dhabi 2030 Vision, supports initiatives for

sustainable innovation of technology, nationally and internationally, and the

use of innovative applications for developing and improving content production locally.

Our strategy reflects the international standards of WSA, especially in relation to utilizing ICT as

the means for the welfare and well-being of mankind. Such approach builds on the widely strong

belief that investing in human capital will prove to be the empowering tool for community

transformation towards knowledge-based economy, thereby realizing the vision of our wise

leadership to boost the rank of the Abu Dhabi Government among the best in the world.

Let us all make the most out of this event, which gives us a unique opportunity to share

knowledge, showcase solutions and discuss the latest trends in innovative mobile content creation

– many of which will guide us towards true transformational and

sustainable development.

INNOVATION PITCHES BY WSA WINNERS :

MOBILE INNOVATION AT ITS BEST

The 40 WSA-mobile Winners already proved that their products are the most innovative solutions

selected in a unique and tough filtering process.

Each winner had to first succeed in a local competition and prove that their product is the most

promising from their country in the respective category. Each UN member state is eligible to

nominate 1 product per WSA category. This year WSA received more than 500 submissions from

over 100 countries. 67 international jurors selected the 5 best, creative and most innovative apps

per category—the WSA-mobile Winners.

In Abu Dhabi the winners pitched their products in front of an experts jury. Each team had 7

minutes to convince the jury, that their team is the most committed, their solution has the strongest

impact and their pitch the most entertaining.

After the last pitch, the jury selected 1 Abu Dhabi Global Champion in each of the categories.

The winners this year demonstrate the richness and diversity of local content, and prove that mobile

solutions are a key enabler for development.

WHAT DO OTHERS SAY ABOUT WSA-mobile GLOBAL CONGRESS?

“One of the best informative conferences WSA 2015“

Mustafa Abdulla Almusawa, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, UAE

WSA-mobile Global Congress was a

great event, well organized and with a

great quality in startups and their re-

spective pitches were often moving and

passionate.

I was really impressed by some of the

startups that presented.

Participating as a juror was also a good experience and I

saw a lot of innovations that are very relevant for

the Networked Society vision that Ericsson is driv-

ing.

Jean-Luc Scherer, Head of Service Line Revenue Growth,

Ericsson

It was a wonderful experience, in personal,

professional and networking side. I’m sure

came back being a better professional and

person, because all the exchange I had with

all of you. I hope we can meet again in the

near future, to keep growing together.

Juan Urrazza, Personal, Paraguay

Great things will continue to emerge from

the garden WSA is nurturing.

It was amazing how many times a discus-

sion would start among randomly as-

sembled people, and the brilliance of tho-

se in the discussion would contribute an

idea, an insight, or a help connection.

The program was really great. It

combines all elements of engaging

the

participants - thought leaders and

experts sharing their knowledge and

providing

inspiration, participants from various

countries/continents sharing their

unique

ideas, the hosts sharing the rich heri-

tage of their country.

Anonymus, Attendee

I got really amazed by the amazing diversity that I could see

during the event. So many people from so many different

places! This has opened my eyes to reach a broader audience

with my solutions. The WSA was an amazing event to meet

new people from all over, make new friends and possibly new

business opportunities.
