And the Winner Is…

Everyone was a winner in the faculty vs.

graduate student bake-off held on February

20. The graduate students officially won the

event and are proud owners of The Golden

Spatula. Rachel Einwohner received the

top individual score.

Graduate Recruitment Event

Potential graduate students were invited

to spend Sunday, February 19th and

Monday, February 20th on campus. After

a tour of Greater Lafayette and campus

on Sunday afternoon, a dinner was held

at the Renzulli-Reynolds home. On Mon-

day were Interest Group meetings and

one-on-one meetings with faculty mem-

viewed by Skype. Kudos to Graduate

Director Dan Olson and Graduate Secre-

tary Nicole Remley—Well Done!

The Center for Research on Young People’s Health's "Beyond Risk" Symposium on Friday, February 24th was a great success. The five talks covered a variety of topics rele-vant to young women's health in Africa including: communi-ty influences on female genital cutting; women's time spent using healthcare services in Malawi; the flexibility of fertility preferences in the context of fertility de-cline; and consumption, modernity, and sexuality among young women in Kenya. There were over 80 people in at-tendance throughout the afternoon and lively question-and-answer sessions followed each talk. Thank you to everyone who participated in the event.
