The product being advertised is an energy bar. The brand name for the product is Nestle. This name has been chosen for the product because it has connotations of. This is a successful name for the product because it is very easy to guess what is being sold and what the product does for you.

The target audience for the product is athletes and people who want to become athletic. The motive for the advertisement is to improve the performance of an athlete it gives you energy .This product fulfils the need to achieve, the need for affiliation and also the need to survive according to Abraham Maslow’s theory

The main image on the advertisement is a woman running and losing her breath on one side and on the side I think after taking the product her energy has been boosted and she is fit and up and running again. This has been chosen because it is showing the audience if you feel like this when you take the product it will boost you and you will not be out of breath. The image has connotations of power and healthy lifestyle. This would attract the target audience because it is making the audience feel very strong to buy the product so that they look dominant and in control like the woman in the advertisement. The camera distance used in the advertisement is a long shot. This camera distance has been used because it is showing everything The camera angle used in the advertisement is a low angle This has been chosen to make the woman look dominant. .The Lighting has a very good effect because on the side where the shadow is the background is quite light than the other half where you can see the woman has taken the product and has become more dominant looking and not tired like her shadow before

The font is very small you cannot really read it but a good point about this advertisement you do not need the font/slogan to understand what is going on.

The main colour used in the advertisement is grey .The colour grey has connotations of boredom but on the other hand it could be very dominant and powerful. The choice of colours would attract the target audience because it is bright on one

side but on the hand it is also dull and the contrast of the two different colour shades may attract the audience’s attention

The logo used in the advertisement is ‘power bar’. This is successful because it catches your attention because of the colour red. The colour red has connotations of dominance and power. It would attract the target audience because it is very bold and bright

The slogan used for the product is ‘increase your performance’. This is not very effective because it tells you exactly what the product does for you I believe there needs to be a reason like a short catchy phrase because it seems quite dull and boring

The language used in the advertisement is ‘increase your performance’. The word performance has connotations of achievement and ambition, this would persuade the audience to purchase the product because it makes you believe you will achieve and be more ambitious.
