Writing an informal letter or a story

Information

You must choose between two tasks: Story or informal letter.

You must write about 100 words.

It’s the most important part of the writing.

You are expected to…

Organise your text well.

Link sentences. (Connectors)

Choose the suitable style. Informal if it’s a letter to a friend.

Use a variety of grammatical structures and vocabulary.

Avoid long sentences that make it difficult to understand the text.

How to do it?

Read the questions carefully and choose the task you can do better.

Underline the following: who will read your text

and the keywords.

Think about the topic and note down your ideas.

Choose your best ideas and organise them.

Decide what style you need to write in: formal or informal.

Divide your writing in paragraphs.

Check punctuation.

Write your text using your own ideas.

Make your handwriting clear.

Use as many different kinds of grammatical structures and as much vocabulary as you can.

Check your answer, remember if you have written fewer than 80 words, you will lose marks. Re-read and correct your mistakes.
