Writing a Review

Why write a book review? It’s an easy way to let

other people know if you enjoyed a book, play or film.

You could people choose whether or not they would like to read or view a particular text.

Important information to include in your Introduction

1. Introduce the name of the play and who wrote it. Macbeth by William Shakespeare

2. Give a brief summary of what happened in the play

3. Tell the audience your opinion of the play.

Important information to include in your first body

paragraph1. State that you are going to be talking about the plot.

2. What is your opinion of the plot3. Why was the plot

interesting/boring/scary/good/bad/awful?

Important information to include in your second body

paragraph1. State that you are going to be talking about the characters

2. Write that you are going to talk about one character. Macbeth or Lady Macbeth.

3. What kind of person was this character?4. Why was the character

interesting/boring/scary/good/bad/awful?

Important information to include in your Conclusion

1. Restate your opinion about the play.2. List that you feel this way because of the

plot, characters and themes.3. Give a recommendation. Who should read

this play?

Important information to include in your third body

paragraph1. State that you are going to be talking about the themes

2. Write that you are going to talk about one theme. Ambition or guilt.

3. Why was this theme interesting/boring/scary/good/bad/awful?
