Memories of Dubbo
On Monday morning we boarded the bus ready for our exciting trip to Dubbo.
The first stop was Narrabri for a quick snack and a toilet break. We then boarded the bus again and travelled onto Coonabarabran. We explored the Dinosaur Museum and then made the final stretch onto Dubbo.
We arrived at the Big 4 caravan Park at 3pm and excitedly unpacked and changed for the Observatory. We looked through a massive telescope and saw millions of stars.
Day two we had bacon and eggs for breakfast then prepared for our day of adventure. Our first place to visit was the Bottle House where we saw bottles and a miniature tractor and lots of fairy’s including a giant beanstalk from Jack and the Beanstalk. We then went to the Royal Flying Doctor Education Centre and took turns of sitting in the simulator.
It was finally time to go to the Dubbo Zoo. At the zoo we saw monkeys, lions, ti-gers, elephants, giraffes, African hunting dogs, rhinos, lemurs, meerkats and ox’s.
That night we went ten pin bowling which was awesome. Mr Curtis, Jarrod Nolan, Will Mayne and Mrs Gessey all were victors.
On day three we visited the Dubbo Gaol. The gaol was very exciting and also in-teresting. We saw a statue of a man named Nosey Bob. The girls did a lot of squealing and we learnt about some of the history of the prisoners. One of the interesting facts about the prisoners was they used a bucket at night as a toilet. YUCK!
After an interesting visit to the gaol we boarded the bus and made our way home.
Everyone had a great time. Thanks to Mr Porter for your organisation of the ex-cursion and Mrs Gessey, Mr Curtis and Mrs Rose for coming along and helping.
