Matilda’s Donkey

Sarah’s Photographs

I thought I would write on behalf of all the parents a special thank you to Sarah in Little Squirrels for taking such wonderful Photographs of all nursery children for Christmas. I am sure you will agree they were exceptional this year and thank you to all parents who emailed or sent thank you cards to Sarah to show their appreciation.

We are so grateful to Sarah as she is a perfectionist and we have absolutely loved seeing these won-derful photographs.

On Friday 6th December Big Squirrels were invited to Matilda’s house to see her Donkey, Doodles. We had a won-derful time as we re-created the Nativity. We found Baby Jesus in the manger in as stable and we really enjoyed watching Matilda’s Mummy feed Doodles with his favourite food, ginger nut biscuits.

Thank you so much to Matilda and her Mummy for this fabulous visit.

We were so grateful as it made the Nativity story come to life for our chil-dren.

Three Ashes

On Friday 20th December Big Squirrels went visit the residents at Three Ashes Care Home. We took some of the children from our Nativity to sing a few Christmas songs to the Ladies and Gentlemen.

The children then distributed the gifts which you very kindly donated.

We were so grateful and we had such a wonderful morning and most importantly so did the residents of Three Ash-es Care Home.

It’s a Boy!!!!

We are so pleased to announce that Amy and Dave have had their baby safely. Ralphie Jack Chesham arrived safely on Sunday 15th January, 14 days later than scheduled, so you can imagine how poor Amy was feeling. However, Ralphie is now safely here, weighing a good weight of 9lb 11oz. Both Ralphie and Amy are doing really well and we congratulate Amy and Dave on their lovely news– we are thrilled for them both.

On Monday 9th December we had our open swimming class, all of the children have progressed so well and have become much for confident in the water. We would like to thank Gemma for teaching the children so well during this term.

Thank you to our Parents

We would like to thank Beatrice who very kindly donated some of her story books for her friends to look at in the Hedgehog Room.

This was very thoughtful of you and I am sure all of your Hedgehog friends will have lots of fun looking at this won-derful variety of books.

Thank you so much.

Nativity Fun...

We had a wonderful 2 days of doing the Christmas Nativity (17th and 18th December), which was performed by the children who are going to school this year. Thank you to all parents for dropping and collecting their children for extra times during the 2 days as the children were amazing.

We would to thank Eldersfield School who came along to watch our performance on Wednesday 18th we really appreciated you visiting us.

On Friday 6th December Little and Big Squirrels were invited to El-dersfield School to watch their Nativity performance. The chil-dren had a wonderful time and joined in by singing along to the Christmas songs.

During the Christmas break we had our floor surfaces cleaned throughout the whole Nursery which helps to keep them germ free and hygienic. We use GP Cleaners at Inns-worth and we would like to thank them very much for com-ing out and doing such a good job, the carpets look fabulous.

May we take this opportunity to thank everyone for taking off their outer footwear before going into Little Squirrels and Ladybirds in order to keep their carpets clean and fresh, many thanks for your co-operation.

At Countryside we frequently are asked about parenting advice regarding a variety of issues such as toileting, bed-time routines, eating and behaviour to name just a few.

We thought it maybe useful to put together an hours session where we can support parents in a group and then with an opportunity afterwards on a one to one basis with positive parenting tips.

The date for this session is Friday 28th February 2020 4:00pm-5:00pm in Big Squirrel Room. If you would like to attend please complete with reply slip and add what tips you would like us to concentrate on and we can cater the session to your needs.

Ladybirds Parent Days 28th and 29th January

Parent Day is a great opportunity for parents to come into Nursery and see their child’s key person to have a little chat about their progress.

We will be holding two Parent Days for Ladybirds on Tuesday 28th January for Bronwen and Lucy’s key children and Wednesday 29th for Jess’s key children.

If you would like to come in and see your child’s key person then please complete the enclosed reply slip.

The Ladybird staff will be writing a summative report on each child so it would be great to see as many parents as we can. Please do come along if you are able, thank you.

Christmas Lunch at Countryside

New Year Sweeps Clean….

Whilst we continuously clean and keep the Nursery up to-gether indoors, we also are continuously maintaining the outdoors.

Thank you to Any and Bill for steam cleaning, sweeping, raking and brushing the outdoor areas in order to ensure that for the children Countryside is a pleasant and clean environment for the children to play and use.

On Friday 20th December we thoroughly en-joyed our Christmas lunch cooked by Doreen.

We pulled our Christmas Crackers, wore our crowns and listened to some of our favourite Christmas songs.

Please let us know if your child has done something exciting at home and we will celebrate it here with a Wow Certificate! It is really wonderful to see our children taking steps forward in their learning and development and they also love sharing their certificates with their friends during Cir-cle Time. Ladybirds: Well done to Evelynn, Rufus and Arlo for all starting to walk. Congratulations to Frankie, Elsie, Sophie, Charlotte, Toby, Felicity and Georgina for all being amazing members of Ladybirds. Well done to Frances and Emily for being so confident and independent at Nursery. You are all so clever, well done!

Hedgehogs: Congratulations to Hattie for wearing Big Girl Pants, clever girl!

Big Squirrels: Well done to everyone who took part in the Nativity, you were all superstars! Congratulations to everyone in Big Squirrels for a great first term, you have all been amazing!

Congratulations to you all , you are superstars

And Finally...

On behalf of all the staff at Nursery I would like to thank you very much for all your kind thoughts, gifts, Christmas cards and best wishes we received at Christmas. It was very generous of you and we are very grateful for your generosity. Thank you! Also...Thank you so much for your most generous gifts to the elderly residents at Three Ashes care Home- we had a superb morning with them and we have received several thank you cards from them expressing their thanks for the lovely hospitality which they received from the Nursery as well as your very kind gifts. We also had the support from many Grandparents at the Nativity - it was wonderful to see so many of you coming to watch your Grandchildren. It makes it even more special to the children to see their Grannies and Grandpa’s there as well as their Mummies and Daddies. Also as the weather may be frosty and icy on some days can we just remind parents to take care when driving into the Nursery car park - although we try and take precautions with water and ice, driving slowly in and out of Nursery is essential. And very finally, on behalf of all the staff at Nursery and myself, I would just like to wish you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year!
