Woven Shirt Measurement Method

Objectives:

To serve as a general guideline when conducting measurement inspection of the garment when

buyers measurement is not available. All the measurement must meet the acceptabletolerance set by the Customer as stated in the Customer Specs. Measurement should be taken

on a clean, flat and smooth surface. Garment is measured in the condition of button up unless

otherwise stated. Pleats must be open and smoothed of all wrinkles for accuracy.

1 Collar Button To Button-Hole:

With collar laying flat,

measure along the center of

the collar stand

from the center of the

button to end of the

buttonhole

2 COLLAR HEIGHT CB

Measure from collar edge to

collar stand join seam at

center back.

3 COLLAR POINT:

Measure along the edge of

collar from point to seam.

4 NECK BAND HEIGHT:

Measure from collar join

seam to neck join seam at

center back.

5 NECK BAND PEAK (

SQUARE / ROUND ):

Measure from end of collar

stand to the end of the

collar.

6 Collar Spread:

Measure distance of collar

point to point with garment

laying flat.

7 Tie Space:

With shirt buttoned and

laying flat, measure space

from collar join seam to

collar join seam at front.

8 HALF CHEST 2.5 CM BELOW

ARMHOLE:

Measure 1 inch below

armhole and then straight

across from edge to edge.

9 HALF WAIST 20CM BELOW

ARMHOLE:

Measure at the narrowest

point between chest and

sweep from edge to edge.

10 HALF BOTTOM HEM:

Measure straight across

from edge to edge

11 SHOULDER

12 CB YOKE HEIGHT:

Measure from center back

neck seam straight down to

bottom of yoke.

13 ACROSS SHOULDER:


from top of left armhole

seam to top of right armhole

seam.

14 ACROSS BACK YOKE AT

SEAM:


from top of left armhole

seam to top of right armhole

seam.

15 HALF ARM HOLE CURVED:

Lay garment flat, aligning

the front and back armhole

seams, and position the

sleeve so that the armholeseam has no wrinkles. Then

measure, following the

armhole seam curve from

top to bottom.

16 F/S LENGTH INCLUDUNG

CUFF:

Measure the points starting

at armhole seam to straight

down outside of the sleeve

fold to bottom edge.

17 H/S LENGTH:

Measure the points starting

at armhole seam to straight

down outside of the sleeve

fold to bottom edge

18 SLEEVE PLACKET LENGTH:

Measure from top edge of

placket to cuff join seam.

19 SLEEVE PLACKET WIDTH:

Measure edge to edge.

21 HALF SLEEVE OPEN ( 1/2 ):

Measure along opening,

edge to edge.

22 HALF SLEEVE HEM:

Measure from stitch line to

bottom edge.

23 CUFF EDGE TO EDGE:

Unbutton cuff and measure

from edge to edge.

24 CUFF HEIGHT:

Measure from bottom edge

to top edge.

25 CUFF PLEAT ( FIRST &

SECOND):

Measure from the edge of

diamond placket to the

crease of the pleats

26 BACK LENGTH:

Measure from center back

neck seam straight down to

the bottom edge.

27 FRONT PLACKET WIDTH:

Measured from edge to

edge, or edge to stitch line,

and for faced plackets

measure from the inside

facing edge to edge.

28 BUTTON PLACKET WIDTH:

Measured from edge to

edge, or edge to stitch line,

and for faced placketsmeasure from the inside

facing edge to edge

29 POCKET PLACMENT FROM

SHOULDER POINT:

Front shoulder seam where

it meets under collar, then

straight down to top of weltpocket.

30 FRONT PLACKET END TOPOCKET:

Measure from placket edge

to the edge of the pocket.

33 POCKET HEM:

Measure from the top of the

pocket to the stitch of the

hem.

34 FRONT LENGTH FROM

SHOULDER SEAM:

Measure from HPS neck join

seam to the bottom of the

garment keeping the tape

parallel to the center front.

If garment has a shirt tail,

measure to the imaginary

line of the lowest point.

35 Button Placement:

Measure from center button

to center of next button.
