An encourager remembers the forgotten people.
Is someone in the hospital? Is someone in a nursing
home? Is there someone who rarely gets included
at social gatherings? An encourager encourages
the forgotten. GODHUNGRY.ORG 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Jim Martin
The October prayer list, printed on
gold paper, is available in the foyer.

We are collecting Little Debbie snacks for

Our congregation has sent me three times (2009, 2012, 2015) to teach courses to students at Cambodia Bible Institute. Rich Dolan, whose parents live here in Midland, has directed this Bible training school for the last ten years. His wife, Ronda, is an invaluable partner with Rich in this good work. Cindy and I first met the Dolans when they worked with youth at the Southgate congregation in San Angelo during the time that we worked with the congregation in Robert Lee. As you can see, I have been going to CBI every three years, and I hope to go again at some point next year.
I want to share some good news, and associated photos, about the work being done in Cambodia. First, three of the students that I had the privilege to teach in 2015, Aet, Khemrin, and Kinsrouen, graduated from CBI this year in September. Rich Dolan tells me that all three have grown not only in their knowledge of the Scriptures, but in their faith and in their effectiveness in ministry as well. You also will see two photos from recent baptisms. In the photo showing a large group gathered around a baptistery, a young man named Piseth, who was first contacted at Best Center, a place where Cambodians can learn English by studying the Bible one-on-one with a teacher, is about to be baptized. A great majority of the students who come to study the Bible full-time at CBI were first contacted through Best Center. In another photo you see Rich Dolan about to baptize a young man from Canada by the name of Jarrod, who came to Cambodia to teach English in a school in Phnom Penh. Reared to be a Roman Catholic, Jarrod began to read the Bible himself and came into contact with the Dolans. After a time of teaching, Jarrod asked to be baptized into Christ.
North A will once again distribute new winter coats for children supplied
by Operation Warm. These coats will be distributed through the Kids
Clothing Exchange on October 28th. If you know of a family who could
benefit from this, please let them know of this opportunity.
