Children’s Liturgy of the Word is when first and second graders leave for part of the Mass and celebrate the

Liturgy of the Word on their level. You serve on a team and lead once a month (only seven times between

up for Faith Formation, and

many of them do not yet have a

catechist to teach them! Become a catechist, classroom assistant, mentor to youth, office aide, hall

monitor, or child care assistant for Faith Formation. Classes offered: Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at varying

times - you are almost sure to find a time that fits your schedule. You will learn and grow as well. Training, materials, and ongoing support provided. Classes begin in September.

We hope you will join us in this exciting mission of

sharing the Catholic faith with the next generation!

There are exciting Changes in the Faith Formation curriculum

for 7 -10 grade that you will want to be a part of! This age

is critical for the youth to make connections with adults in the

parish who desire to share their Faith with them. When the

youth experience positive personal connections, grounded in

the Faith, this helps them to understand their Catholic Faith

and Encounter Christ in a deep and personal way. The grac-

es and gifts you will receive when you choose to mentor the

youth as a Catechist/small group facilitator are priceless!

are welcome to join Sonshine, our parish

children’s choir. Sonshine typically sings at

9:00 AM Mass the last weekend of every

month, with large group choir opportunities

on Christmas Eve and Easter morn-

Thank you for your outpouring of prayers

for all those affected by Hurricane Harvey

in parts of Texas and Louisiana. Our help is

still needed to aid the victims of this storm,

so a special collection is to be taken up in

all parishes in our Archdiocese. Funds from

this collection will be administered through

Catholic Charities to help rebuild affected

communities and Dioceses.
