Step 1: Find a bin (shoebox, bathtub).
Step 2: Find a place for the worm bin.
Step 3: Collect worm bedding (newspapers, paper egg cartons, cereal boxes).
Step 4: Shred the bedding materials.
Step 5: Collect kitchen scraps in another closed plastic container.

Step 6: Alternate layers of bedding and worm food about ¼ of the way up the bin.
Step 7: Let the bin sit for a week, if possible.
Step 8: Add the worms.
Step 9: Keep a dry layer of bedding on the top.
Step 10: When chunks of food are gone, continue to add more food and bedding, until you have enough compost.
