This document includes Limited Warranty information for notebook productspurchased in the Asia Pacific region: Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia,Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, PRC, India, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal,Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam,New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and the islands of the South Pacific. General TermsTHIS LIMITED WARRANTY APPLIES TO THE HP BRANDED HARDWAREPRODUCTS SOLD BY OR LEASED FROM HEWLETT-PACKARD COMPANY, ITSSUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, AUTHORIZED RESELLERS, OR COUNTRYDISTRIBUTORS (COLLECTIVELY REFERRED TO IN THIS LIMITEDWARRANTY AS “HP”). EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH IN THIS LIMITEDWARRANTY, HP MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS,EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OFMERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. HPEXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS NOT STATEDIN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES THAT MAY BEIMPOSED BY LAW ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE LIMITEDWARRANTY PERIOD. This Limited Warranty is applicable in all countries and may be enforced in anycountry where HP or its authorized service providers offer warranty servicesubject to the terms and conditions set forth in this Limited Warranty. However,warranty service availability and response times may vary from country tocountry and may also be subject to registration requirements in the country ofpurchase.

HP warrants that the HP hardware product and all the internal components ofthe product that you have purchased or leased from HP are free from defects inmaterials or workmanship under normal use during the Limited WarrantyPeriod. The Limited Warranty Period starts on the date of purchase or leasefrom HP. Your dated sales or delivery receipt, showing the date of purchase orlease of the product, is your proof of the purchase or lease date. You may berequired to provide proof of purchase or lease as a condition of receivingwarranty service. You are entitled to warranty service according to the termsand conditions of this document if a repair to your HP branded hardware isrequired within the Limited Warranty Period. This Limited Warranty extendsonly to the original purchaser or lessee of this HP branded product and is nottransferable to anyone who obtains ownership of the HP branded product fromthe original purchaser or lessee.

HP products are manufactured using new materials or new and used materialsequivalent to new in performance and reliability. Spare parts may be new orequivalent to new. Spare parts are warranted to be free from defects in materialor workmanship for ninety (90) days or for the remainder of the LimitedWarranty Period of the HP hardware product in which they are installed,whichever is longer.

During the Limited Warranty Period, HP will repair or replace the defectivecomponent parts or the hardware product. All component parts or hardwareproducts removed under this Limited Warranty become the property of HP. Thereplacement part or product takes on either the Limited Warranty status of theremoved part or product or the ninety (90) day limited warranty of the sparepart. In the unlikely event that your HP product has a recurring failure, HP, at itsdiscretion, may elect to provide you with a replacement unit of HP’s choosingthat is at least equivalent to your HP branded product in hardware performance.HP reserves the right to elect, at its sole discretion, to give you a refund of yourpurchase price or lease payments (less interest) instead of a replacement. This isyour exclusive remedy for defective products.

YOU SHOULD MAKE PERIODIC BACKUP COPIES OF THE DATA STORED ONYOUR HARD DRIVE OR OTHER STORAGE DEVICES AS A PRECAUTIONAGAINST POSSIBLE FAILURES, ALTERATION, OR LOSS OF THE DATA.BEFORE RETURNING ANY UNIT FOR SERVICE, BE SURE TO BACK UP DATAAND REMOVE ANY CONFIDENTIAL, PROPRIETARY, OR PERSONALINFORMATION. HP IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE TO OR LOSS OF ANYPROGRAMS, DATA, OR REMOVABLE STORAGE MEDIA. HP IS NOTRESPONSIBLE FOR THE RESTORATION OR REINSTALLATION OF ANYPROGRAMS OR DATA OTHER THAN SOFTWARE INSTALLED BY HP WHENTHE PRODUCT IS MANUFACTURED.

HP does not warrant that the operation of this product will be uninterrupted orerror-free. HP is not responsible for damage that occurs as a result of yourfailure to follow the instructions that came with the HP branded product.

This Limited Warranty does not apply to expendable parts. This LimitedWarranty does not extend to any product from which the serial number has beenremoved or that has been damaged or rendered defective (a) as a result ofaccident, misuse, abuse, or other external causes; (b) by operation outside theusage parameters stated in the user documentation that shipped with theproduct; (c) by the use of parts not manufactured or sold by HP; or (d) bymodification or service by anyone other than (i) HP, (ii) an HP authorizedservice provider, or (iii) your own installation of end-user replaceable HP or HPapproved parts if available for your product in the servicing country.

These terms and conditions constitute the complete and exclusive warrantyagreement between you and HP regarding the HP branded product you havepurchased or leased. These terms and conditions supersede any prior agreementsor representations—including representations made in HP sales literature oradvice given to you by HP or an agent or employee of HP—that may have beenmade in connection with your purchase or lease of the HP branded product. Nochange to the conditions of this Limited Warranty is valid unless it is made inwriting and signed by an authorized representative of HP.

Limitation of LiabilityIF YOUR HP BRANDED HARDWARE PRODUCT FAILS TO WORK ASWARRANTED ABOVE, YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY SHALL BEREPAIR OR REPLACEMENT. HP’S MAXIMUM LIABILITY UNDER THISLIMITED WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO THE LESSER OF THE PRICEYOU HAVE PAID FOR THE PRODUCT OR THE COST OF REPAIR ORREPLACEMENT OF ANY HARDWARE COMPONENTS THAT MALFUNCTION INCONDITIONS OF NORMAL USE.

HP IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES CAUSED BY THE PRODUCT OR THEFAILURE OF THE PRODUCT TO PERFORM, INCLUDING ANY LOST PROFITSOR SAVINGS OR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. HPIS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM MADE BY A THIRD PARTY OR MADE BYYOU FOR A THIRD PARTY.

THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY APPLIES WHETHER DAMAGES ARESOUGHT, OR A CLAIM MADE, UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY OR AS ATORT CLAIM (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE AND STRICT PRODUCT LIABILITY),A CONTRACT CLAIM, OR ANY OTHER CLAIM. THIS LIMITATION OFLIABILITY CANNOT BE WAIVED OR AMENDED BY ANY PERSON. THISLIMITATION OF LIABILITY WILL BE EFFECTIVE EVEN IF YOU HAVEADVISED HP OR AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF HP OF THEPOSSIBILITY OF ANY SUCH DAMAGES. THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY,HOWEVER, WILL NOT APPLY TO CLAIMS FOR PERSONAL INJURY.

Options and SoftwareThe Limited Warranty terms and conditions for HP options are as indicated inthe Limited Warranty applicable to HP options. HP DOES NOT WARRANTSOFTWARE PRODUCTS, INCLUDING ANY SOFTWARE PRODUCTS OROPERATING SYSTEMS PREINSTALLED BY HP. HP’s only obligations withrespect to software distributed by HP under the HP brand name are set forth inthe applicable end-user license or program license agreement. Non-HP hardwareand software products are provided “AS IS.” However, non-HP manufacturers,suppliers, or publishers may provide their own warranties directly to you.

Software Technical SupportSoftware technical support is defined as assistance with questions and issuesabout the software that was either preinstalled by HP on the HP branded productor that was included by HP with the HP branded product at the time of yourpurchase or lease of the product. Technical support for software is available forthe first ninety (90) days from date of product purchase or lease. Your datedsales or delivery receipt, showing the date of purchase or lease of the product, isyour proof of the purchase or lease date. You may be required to provide proofof purchase or lease as a condition of receiving software technical support. Afterthe first ninety (90) days, technical support for software that was eitherpreinstalled by HP on the HP branded product or included with the HP brandedproduct at the time of your purchase or lease of the product is available fora fee.

Hardware Technical Support

Free hardware technical support is available for a period of one year from thedate of purchase.

Software Technical Support

Free software technical support is available for the first 90 days from the date ofpurchase. Software technical support is defined as issues/questions about theOperating System, bundled software, and “how-to” installation andconfiguration questions.

Obtaining ServiceCarry-In Service (applicable in Asia Pacific)

To receive warranty repair service, contact the Customer Care Center or anauthorized reseller (refer to the Worldwide Phone Numbers booklet for thecorrect phone number for your country). Our support specialist will help qualifyyour unit for warranty repair based on the warranty applicable to your unit andoriginal purchase date.

If our support specialist determines that hardware repair for your notebookcomputer is necessary, you will be advised to carry-in your notebook computerto the nearest authorized repair center for hardware service.

A worldwide warranty program applicable to notebooks is available to assistyou when you travel to a participating country, different from the country ofpurchase. For a list of participating countries and program details, refer to thewebsite at www.hp.com.

Replaceable Parts Program

Where available, replacement parts may be sent directly to you to fulfill yourwarranty repair, which saves considerable repair time. After you call customersupport, a replaceable part can be sent directly to you. Once the part arrives,follow the installation instructions provided. If necessary, you may contactcustomer support and a technician will assist you over the phone to ensure thatthe installation is quick and easy. (Available in select regions—refer to theWorldwide Phone Numbers booklet for the correct phone number for yourregion.)

Mail-in Service

Where available, if the support specialist determines that hardware repair foryour notebook computer is necessary, we will pick up, repair, and return thecomputer for no additional fees during the Limited Warranty period.

The pickup and delivery service uses a central repair facility to provide thehighest level of repair quality. The central facility has quick access to the HPcentral parts inventory, proper diagnostic equipment, a controlled environment,and a remanufacturing-like process to ensure quality.

If you have questions about packaging requirements when returning yourcomputer for repair, contact customer support. If your notebook is not packagedproperly, you are responsible for any damage that occurs during shipping.
