    General Information

Welcome Worldspan is pleased to welcome you to linear entries for SecuRateAir Direct. SecuRate Air Direct is Worldspan's negotiated fares

product where the Subscriber/Airline creates, maintains, and managestheir database of fares.

Definition SecuRate Air Direct is a database system using menus and templatesto create, maintain, and distribute negotiated fare contracts.Linearentries are streamlined entries using a variety of field codes to inputinformation into the SecuRate Air Direct database. The entries aredesigned to create, manage, and speed productivity and processing ofSecuRate Air Direct Agreements. When a linear entry is used, the

template does not have to be displayed, however the agreement mustbe in update mode. The information inputted in the linear entry, ispopulated into the template. If the template is displayed after thelinear entry has been made, the information within the templatereflects the information inputted via the linear entry.

Prerequisites Prerequisites for creating and maintaining SecuRate Air Direct usinglinear entries are:

Working knowledge of your company's procedures for negotiated

fares and has the task of creating and maintaining SecuRate AirDirect databases.

A working knowledge of the SecuRate Air Direct template system A basic knowledge of the Worldspan Reservations System. SecuRate Air Direct Training

    Rules

    Descriptor Codes

Introduction SecuRate Air Direct provides the ability to create and maintain rulesfor Discounted Published, Flat Rate, and Net Net fare types. Theserules are created through a series of templates located in the RuleSelection Menu (4F-G). Once the rules have been created, the rulenumbers are then attached to the fare item according to the rulesgoverning the fare. The descriptor numbers are internally assigned bythe system when the rule numbers are added to the fare item template. Each grouping containing the same rules are given the same descriptornumber when they are attached to the fare item.

    Descriptor

    Expert Entries

With the introduction of linear entries, SecuRate Air Direct has the

capability to manually create a descriptor code by grouping rulestogether under one descriptor number. Expert entries are used tocreate, add, change, and delete a descriptor. The agreement must be increate/update mode. Once the descriptor is created, the user canappend the descriptor number to the fare item or multiple fare itemsbeing created with the SecuRate Air Direct linear entries.

    Descriptor Codes, continued

    Descriptor

OptionWhen adding the descriptor to a linear entry for fare selection, the four-character descriptor number for the rules created is used. The linear option

to add a descriptor code to a linear entry is:

    /DESC-(descriptor code number)

Reminder: a general rule is required for Flat Rate and Net Net fare types.

Example The descriptor table shows rules Z05C, T05C, and V05C have beencreated for descriptor code number 0002. The descriptor code number0002 is added to the fare selection linear entry to add the rule numbersto the fare. After the mandatory fields for the linear entry, optional field

    is: /DESC-0002

    Add to a

DescriptorTo add a rule to a specific descriptor, an expert entry is used. Thedescriptor number is mandatory. The entry to add rule number E05C todescriptor number 0001 is:

    4F-R/DESC/0001/A-E05CResponse - OK - DESCRIPTOR 0001 UPDATED

Delete aDescriptor An expert entry allows the user to delete an entire descriptor or a specifiedrule within the descriptor. The descriptor number is mandatory. The

entry to delete descriptor 0001 is:

    4F-R/DELETE/DESC/0001

Response- OK - DESCRIPTOR 0001 DELETED

To delete only rule number T05C from descriptor number 0003, the entryis:

    4F-R/DESC/0003/D-T05C

Response- OK - DESCRIPTOR 0003 UPDATED

Note: Multiple adds and deletes can be made in the same entry to modify

    a descriptor. Example: 4F-R/DESC/0004/A-E05C/D-C05C.
