• In a war there is the battle front where soldiers fight.
• The home front are the civilians at home who are helping the war effort.
• They work in factories that make weapons.• They grow food for the troops.• The support the war effort by buying war
bonds.
New Opportunities
• Sometimes war provides new opportunities for people.
• During WW 1 many women took jobs outside the home to fill in for men who were in Europe fighting.
• African Americans traveled north during the Great Migration, to work in the war industries.
