Architecture
Hungary, as in any other country in Europe, is well known and beloved for its interesting and wonderful architecture and cultural heritage. In Hungary you can find a variety of features in its architecture, such as roman ruins, gothic churches, hundred years old houses as well as modern buildings next to each other. During its history, the Hungary has changed your borders many times. This fact contributed with inspiration from different countries of Europe, but the Hungarians always maintains a strong and notable character of their own.

Shoes on the Danube Promenade
This sad memorial was created in order to remember all the victims of Arrow Cross Party during the WWII. The memorial represents 60 pairs of shoes made of iron, which make all the people remember that we should never allow something like this happen again. Shoes are placed on the shore, because the people, who were shot, were then pushed to fall in the river.

Gastronomy
Traditional Hungarian dishes are primarily based on meats, seasonal vegetables, fruits, fresh bread and cheeses. Hungarian food is often spicy, due to the common use of hot paprika.

If you go to Hungary you have to taste some typical beverages, such as hungarians wines and Pálinka. The Pálinka is a famous Hungarian fruit brandy. It is a strong alcoholic beverage revered for its punch, flavor, and fragrance.

1. Hungary was amongst the first communist-era countries that opposed the Soviet regime during the Cold War. 2. As per EU statistics, Hungary has the highest death rate by cancer in Europe and also the highest female suicide rate. 3. Albert Szent-Györgyi was the first to discover vitamin C, after extracting it from paprika, the zesty yellow peppers of Hungary. 4. László József Bíró invented the ballpoint pen, the most popular tool for everyday writing.
