Aerospace AS9120 Certification

World Micro is an AS9120 certified supplier to the aerospace and military industry. Our industry Quality Certifications and our unique Quality programs give the companies we work with the assurances they need to know the products we ship conform to the strict standards they require.

AS9120 Quality Management Standard – Aerospace Requirements for Stockist Distributors was developed for pass–through distributors of aerospace commodity items. This standard addresses chain of custody, traceability, control and availability of records. Based on ISO 9001:2000, but with nearly 100 additional requirements specific to aerospace distributors, AS9120 provides suppliers with a comprehensive quality system focused on areas directly impacting product safety and reliability including:

Splitting – Specific requirements for batch splitting and lot splitting, and how conformance to specification is maintained. Airworthiness certificates – Defines the documents issued by cognizant civil aviation authorities that certifies that parts meet the required airworthiness requirements. Control of records – Record requirements differ significantly for distributors of aerospace product. AS9120 defines those requirements. Traceability – Defines specific requirements for traceability from receipt until delivery. Evidence of Conformance – Specific documents are required by distributors as evidence of conformance. AS9120 defines those requirements.

Aerospace and Defense Platforms

Most Distributors in the Aerospace Industry operate in Silos…they represent certain product lines from various OEM Manufacturers on different aviation platforms, or focus on certain key platforms. Our business model is different allowing us a much broader offering of the products we represent. Broadline Platform Distribution

Lockheed IPV - 10 year contract to provide over 92,000 line Items to replenish three Air Force Depots: Hill, Warner Robbins, and Tinker. World Micro is one of nine small business’s Lockheed is using exclusively for this program. Program requires us to Research, Source, Procure, Inventory, and Manage Aerospace products of every kind required for the depots.

SAIC IPV - Providing consumable parts management services since 1998. SAIC supplies parts ranging from Pre-Expended Bin (PEB) items to aircraft subassemblies, engine and landing gear components to major U.S. military maintenance depots and the mechanics that maintain front-line aircraft.

In addition to providing helpful account information, the Online Customer Portal provides the ability to view customer inventory, consigned inventory, and excess inventory located at the customer’s facility, our facility, or off-site at a third party location. It includes the ability to recall needed inventory or allow third party purchasing.

Inventory Management Program - A key component is the inclusion of your company’s global inventory that has been listed with, consigned, or sold as excess to World Micro. In one online location you, your CMs, or your customers can search for parts required for manufacturing, and simply click the "recall" or "purchase" button to inform us of the desire to receive the needed parts. Capabilities for an online purchasing store are in the development stage. RFQ Management Program - The Online Portal also includes a unique RFQ management section providing a one-stop online location to manage the RFQ process, and a convenient Global Part Search function allowing anyone to initiate a RFQ for inventory located in our extensive global network of trusted trading partners.
