Things to Know Before Registering for a Language:

Things to Know Before Registering for a Language:

• People lose the ability to learn a language as they get older, so start your language as soon as possible.

• At CHS, students can take up to four years of French, German or Spanish.

• Each level is divided into two sections: A and B. You must register for both sections during the same school year.

(Ex: German 1A & 1B the same year.)• Students should complete 2 years of one

world language before considering another, and not take 2 languages at the same time.

To prepare for college:

• Most four-year colleges and universities require students take two to four years of a world language in high school.

To gain real life communication skills:

• Businesses prefer hiring people who are able to

communicate in a second language and who are comfortable working with people from diverse cultures.

• Increasing numbers of people travel around the world for work and leisure. We provide students the opportunity to travel in an educational program that often includes a homestay.
