Central Amazon

The year it was picked was in 2003. It’s location is in Brazil in South America.The Central Amazon was picked as a world heritage site because the tropical forests at the heart of the Amazon hold some of the most beautiful areas and species found no where else.

Timbuktu

The year Timbuktu was picked as a world heritage site in 1988.Timbuktu’s location is in Mali in Africa.Timbuktu was a great place to go teach people musical instruments. It has one of the world’s great collections of ancient manuscripts.

Great Barrier Reef

The year the Great Barrier Reef was picked as a world heritage site was 1981.The Great Barrier Reef’s location is in Australia.This coral reef system is one of the most biologically diverse places on the planet.

Great Blue Mountain Area

The year that the Great Blue Mountains were chosen as a world heritage site was in the year 2000.The area of the Blue Mountains are in New South Wales of Australia.The Blue Mountains are significant to Aboriginals because they were the first to inhabit the area.

Sydney Opera House

The Sydney Opera House was chosen in 2007 to be a world heritage site.

Sydney Opera House is in New South Wales of Australia.

The Sydney Opera House is a great architectural piece of work from the 20th century. It has alot of creativity in it. It’s a great sculpture that is remarkable.

Yellowstone National Park

The year that the Yellowstone National Park was picked to be a world heritage site was in 1978.

Yellowstone National Park is in U.S.A in Montana and Idaho.

The natural forest of Yellowstone National Park covers nearly 9,000 km2. 96% of the park lies in Wyoming, 3% in Montana and 1% in Idaho. Yellowstone contains half of all the world's known animals and wildlife.

Grand Canyon

The year that the Grand Canyon was picked to be a world heritage site was in 1979.The Grand Canyon is in U.S.A, Arizona, Coconino Mohave.The Grand Canyon was carved out by the Colorado River. The Grand Canyon is nearly 1500 meters deep and it is the most spectacular gauge in the world.

Shark Bay

Shark Bay was chosen to be a world heritage site in 1991.Shark Bay is in Western Australia of Australia.Shark Bay has many islands and has some of the most exceptional natural features. It’s grass beds cover almost 4800km2. Shark Bay also has five endangered mammals.
