FACTSHEET Overview The World Green Summit (WGS) is a new annual high-level forum committed to progressing sustainable development and the green economy, by engaging business, finance, government and other leaders to find solutions for industries, cities, regions and nations. The inaugural WGS provides a media, marketing and networking platform during the official Rio+20 conference, to enable the world’s leading CEOs, financiers, celebrities, and dignitaries to initiate, communicate and build solutions for a sustainable future. The summit will be webcast globally (and maybe televised) and will support an active community of more than 10,000 global green leaders. Date & time June 20th, 2012 – 9.00am-9.00pm Venue Windsor Barra Hotel, 20mins from Riocentro (Official Rio+20 Venue). We are also looking at another venue across the road from Riocentro with the Rio State Government. Speakers & audience The high-level conference will be led by the world’s leading green CEOs, investors, entrepreneurs, dignitaries, and celebrities. WGS will convene the most inspiring green economy leaders who will be present at Rio+20. The Government of Rio is inviting 300 government leaders and WGS is inviting 100 Executives. Format & themes WGS is very much action-focused and therefore WGS will work with its partners to define and formulate the purpose, pathway and actions towards that sector. The summit will consist of:

High-level panel sessions--Plenary panels/keynotes/armchair discussions (1hr) with 5-6 CEOs, entrepreneurs, celebrities, and dignitaries discussing and launching new initiatives of the global green economy, that will be broadcast and webcast globally (TBC with media partners). Networking sessions--Delegates and speakers will have the opportunity to discuss and interact with each other in the networking area and lounge and communicate via the media corner (coffee breaks and reception). Workshops & roundtables (TBC)--Sponsored workshops on particular themes and sectors, or private intimate roundtables with the right corresponding high-level participants from our partners.

Programme 9.00-12.00pm Morning programme of workshops with Partners (private function not open to public) 1.00-2.00pm: Registration and networking 2.00-2.10pm Opening statement by the State Government 2.15-2.30pm Keynote speech by Federal Government 2.30-3.30: Plenary Panel I – Sustainable Energy for All in partnership with the UN Foundation and Sustainable Energy for All (CEO-level in plenary room) moderated by Media Partner (tbc) Energy cuts across all sectors of industry and society. How can we scale and deliver sustainable energy solutions for everyone? 3.30-4.00 Networking break & media interviews (30mins coffee & tea) 4.00-5.00pm Plenary Panel II – Sustainable Cities in partnership with R20 (tbc) (CEO and Mayor level in plenary room) moderated by TIME -- Cities will be the main drivers of consumption. How can we make sure that it is done in a sustainable way in the next 20 years? 5.00-5.30 Networking break & media interviews (30mins coffee & tea) 5.30-6.30pm: Green Icons (famous global personalities announcement in plenary) with Media Partner (Global TV TBC) 7.00-10.00: Green Gala - Evening reception (cocktails & buffet)
