Welcome to the World Dental Forum 2015

The World Dental Forum is a global initiative created by the Modern Dental Group and their partners.

The forum, held at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong from 21st to 22nd October 2015, presents a unique

opportunity to meet highly regarded international speakers updating you on the latest dental

know-how and creates a space for you to exchange your knowledge and expertise with your peers.

On the day prior to the forum (20th October), you have the option to visit Modern Dental Laboratory

in Shenzhen which allows you to view this world class production facility.

Hong Kong is a vibrant city that stems from a rich blend of cultures, where tradition and innovation

create amazing opportunities for exchange and enjoyment. The World Dental Forum offers this same

Day 1 – 21st of October 8.30am – 5.00pm

Day 1 of the educational program consists of eight lectures including

two fully catered coffee breaks and a lunch break. Each lecture lasts

approximately forty minutes after which you will get the opportunity

to ask questions for ten minutes.

The day is followed by a gala dinner for all participants.

20th of October - Pre-Conference Activity Optional - visit Modern Dental Laboratory in Shenzhen.

Day 2 – 22nd of October 9.00am – 12.15pm

Day 2 of the educational program includes 4 lectures including a coffee

break concluded by a closing ceremony.

Over the two days you will get the opportunity to listen to thirteen

international speakers. All lectures will be given in English. The lectures

of the French and German speakers will be translated into English.

WDF 2015 I Speakers

Dr. Lieven Barbier BELGIUM

Dr. Lieven Barbier is the clinical instructor (Prosthetics), staff member at the training center for dental students of the KULeuven at Sint-Jan hospital. His clinical research is on different aspects of immediate loading in upper- and lower jaws (2001-today), clinical interest in the prosthetic treatment of agenesis and the oncological patient. He will be presenting a lecture with Mr. Jozef Ludovic Beckers on “Unique Full-Arch Immediate Loading Protocol in Fresh Extraction Sockets or in the Severe Atrophic Maxilla”.

Dr. Andrew Dillon AUSTRALIA

Dr. Andrew Dillon has devoted the last 20 years developing one of Australia’s leading practices in advanced oral rehabilitative care. He has special interests in biomimetic dentistry; smile design and aesthetic dentistry. He will be presenting a lecture on “The Imperfectly Perfect Smile”.

Dr. Curtis E. Jansen USA

Dr. Curtis E. Jansen is an Associate member of the American College of Prosthodontics, a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and an active member of the Academy of Ossointegration. He has an extensive past involving research and design in implant dentistry. He has a number of patents for implant restorative components, some of which are being used by major manufactures throughout the world. He will be presenting a lecture on “From Preliminary Impression to Restoration, How Digital Work Flows are Increasing Practice Efficiency, Decreasing Chair Time, and are Creating a Better Patient Experience”.

Dr. Stefen KoubiFRANCE

Dr. Stefen Koubi is the founder of “L’institut de la facette”, a private training centre established in 2013 which mainly focuses on laminate veneer restorations and the minimally invasive rehabilitation of worn dentitions. Dr Koubi is the author of various national and international publications and reports. He has lectured internationally on the topics of esthetic dentistry, smile design, wear and erosion. He will be presenting a lecture on “Creating a New Smile : from the Cosmetic to the Functional Rehabilitation”.

Dr. Kenneth A. Malament USA

Dr. Kenneth A. Malament has a full time prosthodontics practice in Boston that includes a dental laboratory with master dental technologists. Dr. Malament is a Clinical Professor at Tufts University and a Course Director in the postgraduate department of Prosthodontics. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, Academy of Prosthodontics, Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, Northeastern Gnathological Society as well as an active member of many dental organisations. Dr. Malament presently serves on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Prosthodontics and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He will be presenting a lecture on “Integration of Esthetic Dentistry and Prosthodontics”.

Mr. Jozef Ludovic Beckers BELGIUM

Mr. Jozef Ludovic Beckers is a well known dental technician and is currently working with Elysee Dental. He founded his own lab in 1980 in Leuven, Belgium. As a joint-venture with the Catholic University of Leuven, the lab became UNI-DENT nv in 1994. He will be presenting a lecture with Dr. Lieven Barbier on “Unique Full-Arch Immediate Loading Protocol in Fresh Extraction Sockets or in the Severe Atrophic Maxilla”.

Prof. Lim Kwong Cheung CHINA

Prof. Lim Kwong Cheung is a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery and the honorary clinical professor of the Faculty of Dentistry, the University of Hong Kong. His main clinical and research interest is on surgical correction of maxillofacial deformities, obstructive sleep apnea and rehabilitation of atrophic jaws with dental implants. He will be presenting a lecture on “Computer Planning and Guided Dental Implant Surgery”.

Dr. Allen J. Moses USA

Dr. Allen J. Moses is the inventor of The Moses® appliance and co-inventor of The Moses Bite Shims. He has a special interest, expertise and board certification in the diagnosis and treatment of craniofacial pain, temporomandibular disorders and oral appliances for controlling snoring and sleep apnea. He will be presenting a lecture on “A Demonstration of the Neurophysiology of Moses Appliances”.

Prof. Peter Pospiech GERMANY

Prof. Peter Reinhard Pospiech is the co-chair of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry at Wuerzburg University, Germany. His clinical and research interest is on all-ceramic restorations, partial dentures, resin-cements, adhesive bridges, CAD/CAM for dental ceramics, ceramics in implantology, impression materials. He will be presenting a lecture on “Think Ceramics! Zirconia as a Universal Material?”.

Dr. Nelson RFA SilvaBRASIL

Dr. Nelson RFA Silva is a professor of the Department of Restorative Dentistry at Federal University of Minas Gerais, School of Dentistry. His clinical and research field of interest involves translational research, laboratorial and clinical aspects for the success of esthetic restorations and implants using CAD/CAM as well as development of atmosphere pressure plasmas for dentistry. He will be presenting a lecture on “Optimised Biomaterials for Digital Dental Applications”.

Dr. Jianguo Tan CHINA

Dr. Jianguo Tan is a Professor and Vice-chair of the Department of Prosthodontics, Peking University School of Stomatology. His research interests are dental esthetic rehabilitation, dentin bonding and oral biomechanics. He will be presenting a lecture on “Esthetic and Functional Rehabilitation of Severely Worn Dentition”.

Prof. Daniel Wismeijer THE NETHERLANDS

Prof. Daniel Wismeijer is the chair and head of the section of Oral Function and Restorative Dentistry. In 1985 he started a general dental practice which since 1990 is a referral practice for Oral Implantology. He is an ITI fellow since 1993. In 2006 he accepted the position of Professor of Oral Implantology and Prosthetic Dentistry at ACTA Amsterdam, the Netherlands which he combines with his referral practice. He will be presenting a lecture on “Digital Dentistry; Where Is This Taking Us?”.

Mr. Russell. R. Young AUSTRALIA

Mr. Russell. R. Young has co-founded Omega Ceramics Dental Laboratory in Australia with Tom Friedman, which today is considered one of the leading Dental Laboratories in the country. His main areas of interest and passion are Digital Smile Design, implant prosthetic design and aesthetics, clinical and laboratory coordination and communication along with the All-on-4 Concept and developed the All-on-4 Lab Team in Australia. He will be presenting a lecture on “Digital Smile Design (DSD) in the 21st Century Dentistry”.
