World Community Service
World Community Service (WCS) is one of Rotary International’s nine structured programs designed to help clubs and districts achieve their service goals in their own communities and in communities abroad, fostering fellowship and goodwill in the process.

World Community Service occurs when Rotary clubs from two or more countries collaborate on a community service project.

• WCS began in 1962.• The
WCS Projects Exchange was established in 1967.
• The first project listed was from the Rotary Club of Cotabato, Philippines for a post office and communications center.EXIT
Participate in WCS
• Get involved with an international service project by sponsoring one of many projects listed on the WCS Projects Exchange.
• Advertise your project’s needs to the more than 31,000 Rotary clubs worldwide by listing your project on the WCS Projects Exchange.

WCS Projects Exchange
The WCS Projects Exchange is a searchable database on the RI Web site (English only) of over 350 Rotary club projects that need assistance. It includes short descriptions of each project and contact information for the local project coordinator.

Projects Exchange Guidelines
In order to be listed on the WCS Projects Exchange, a project must • Be humanitarian in nature• Involve Rotarians in two or more Rotary
countries, one of which includes the site of the project
Only one project per club may be registered on the WCS Projects Exchange database.

A Rotary club may register one additional project on the Projects Exchange Database if the project• Is being registered on
behalf of a Rotary Community Corps, a Rotaract club, or an Interact clubOR
• Requests donated goods only

How to Register a Project
• Complete a Project Data Form.
• Have the form signed by your club president or district governor.
• Send the completed form to Rotary International.
• Contact WCS section staff with questions.

How to Support a Project• Search for a project on the
WCS Projects Exchange Searchable Database.
• Communicate with the local project contact to verify the current needs of the project.
• Complete the WCS Remittance Form and send your contribution.
• Use the Donations-in-kind Information Network (DIN) to find a project that needs goods you can donate.

Project Fairs
To help establish partnerships between clubs in two countries, Rotarians are encouraged to hold and attend project fairs worldwide. Upcoming project fairs are listed on the RI Web site.
