Tom Fazio’s second Hill Country masterpiece is a study in natural beauty and experienced design. The Canyons has earned the prestigious National Environmental Steward Award for Resort Courses and designation as a Certified Audubon Signature Bronze Sanctuary. The layout features large sloping greens, tee to green elevation changes, and strategically positioned fairway and greenside bunkers. Fittingly, this challenging course is also the home of the renowned Omni Barton Creek Golf Academy. The Canyons routinely makes GOLF Magazine’s “Top 100 You Can Play” list, and with five sets of tees, golfers of all skill levels can take full advantage of the opportunity.

Lakeside’s award-winning championship golf course, designed by golf great Arnold Palmer, rests on a scheduled hillside above Lake Travis. Arnie’s design offers exciting challenges for proficient players while encouraging novices to play their best. Length off the tee is rewarded, making Lakeside a favorite with big hitters. And the dramatic views, water features and elevation changes deliver a golf experience as inspiring as The King himself.

The resort’s signature golf course is also the first Texas course designed by legend Tom Fazio. Featuring natural limestone caves, waterfalls and cliff-lined fairways, Fazio Foothills’ numerous elevation changes add to this inspired layout. Tom’s design puts a premium on long, accurate drives, and the small greens with their undulating aprons and grass bunkers reward bold shot making. With Foothills, Tom has exceeded his goal to create a course that is “dramatic, memorable, exciting, challenging as well as fun to play again and again.”

With Cliffside, Austin native Ben Crenshaw and fellow golf course architect Bill Coore created a links-style golf course with a Texas Hill Country personality. Especially evident is Ben’s design philosophy that, “The best architect is nature and the best players’ courses make good use of the natural terrain.” Cliffside offers generous fairways, but challenges golfers with their approach to large, well-contoured greens. The balance makes Crenshaw Cliffside a golf course that is both forgiving for the beginner and challenging for the seasoned golfer.
