Workshop on Safety of Mining Equipmentsand their Corrosion Control

CSIR-Centrallnstitute of Mining and Fuel Research (CIMFR)

CSIR-CIMFR, a constituent laboratory under the aegis of Council

of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, aims to

provide R&D inputs for the entire fossil energy chain

encompassing exploration, mining and utilization. It also

facilitates mineral based industries to reach the targeted

production for country's energy security and growth with high

standards of safety, economy and cleaner environment. In view

of the National Missions, recently declared by the Government

of India, CSIR-CIMFR has re-aligned its vision, missions and

policies. It has also redefined targets for short and long terms

that would promote rapid sustainable national techno-

economic growth with equal emphasis on self-sustenance. CSIR-

CIMFR is located in the town of Dhanbad, known as coal capital

of India in Jharkhand state. It is strategically situated in the

Damodar basin of Eastern part of the country which is endowed

with rich coal deposits and hosts several large mineral based

industries.

CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI)

CSIR-CGCRI, also a premier research institute under CSIR, New

Delhi is spearheading scientific and technological excellence

with the objective of carrying out basic and applied research in

the fields of glass, ceramics, refractories, vitreous enamels,

composites and allied materials. The institute continues to

execute internationally competitive R&D projects with

public-private partnership. It also provides technical advisory

and infra-structural services on project engineering, testing &

evaluation, training & education and dissemination of scientific

information to the public.

CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI)

CSIR-CECRI, a laboratory also under the aegis of CSIR, New Delhi

and a premier institution for electrochemical science &

engineering in our country was inaugurated during January

1953. CSIR-CECRI is recognized as a pioneering institution for

research and development in electrochemical science and

technology internationally. CSIR-CECRI's activities are directed

towards the development of new and improved products and

processes as well as novel innovations using electrochemical

technology. CSIR-CECRI runs several prestigious projects in

collaboration with laboratories and private companies within

and outside India. CSIR-CECRI also organizes national and

international conferences for dissemination of scientific

knowledge. CSIR-CECRI is alive to societal obligations andparticipations in skill development activities and CSIR's youthdevelopment programmes. CSIR-CECRI is a recipient of manyprestigious awards.

National Corrosion Council of India (NCCI)

NCCI, a Non-Profit organization and a forum for effective

dissemination of knowledge on Corrosion and its Control,

functions in the premises of CSIR-CECRI, Karaikudi, since 1990.

NCCI organizes National Conferences on Corrosion Control and

Workshops periodically, covering all aspects of Corrosion

Science and Engineering at industrial cities like Kochi, Bangalore,

Hyderabad, Mumbai, Vadodara, New Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata,

Visakhapatnam, Chennai etc., for enlightening and increasing

the awareness on Corrosion and its Control.
