Introduction Fuzzy Logic is getting prominence in recent days due to its potentiality in solving real world planning problems. Its seamless association with Classical Optimization Techniques, Evolutionary Algorithms, Multicriterion Decision Making, Artificial Neural Networks making it most preferred domain for Civil Engineering Professionals. Hence, there is a need to understand and integrate these aspects. To achieve this objective, Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Management, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus is organizing a Workshop on “Fuzzy Logic and Applications in Civil Engineering” during March 15-16, 2019. The objective of the workshop is to provide overview of the Fuzzy logic with relevance to Civil Engineering and allied fields. Workshop will provide under graduate, post graduate students and research scholars, field experts improved understanding and knowledge. Number of guest lectures has been arranged as a part of the workshop. Workshop will enable the participants to Understand necessity of Fuzzy Logic in Civil Engineering Understand the association of Fuzzy Logic with other relevant techniques Understand the challenges for applying Fuzzy Logic into the field problems Topics that will be covered are v Understanding difference between crisp and fuzzy logic, shapes of membership functions v Basics of Crisp and Fuzzy relations v Fuzzification and defuzzification v Fuzzy logic and reasoning v Fuzzy Logic based Decision Making v Fuzzy Data Mining Approaches v Optimization and Fuzzy based Optimization v Case Studies in Civil Engineering Registration Fees Registration fee for the workshop is Rs. 2000/-. Participants are requested to send the payment through demand draft in favour of “Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani, Hyderabad Campus” payable at State Bank of India (Code 21092). Registration fee covers lunch and refreshments during both days of workshop. Participants are expected to be of engineering or relevant background related to theme of the workshop.
